Ok, so I'm sure this is going to look just like another of those ideas for a rogue buff threads or whatever, but all it really is was me being bored and thinking about some of our skills.

Ok, really just thinking about how Evis sucks.

It isn't bad in PvP with a ShS buff and an opponent below 35% hp, but aside from then, there are normally far better finishers to be used.

So, I got to thinking...how has Blizz buffed things for other classes lately?

Well, they tried giving a Wound/MS Debuff effect to everyone. But, we already have that. Hmm...what else...OH! Hunters just got a dispel!

Now, here is where I came up with an idea that would be interesting and give Evis some utility.

In addition to the damage, give it a 20% chance per combo point to dispel one buff.

That wouldn't be any kind of huge buff, but it would add a bit more utility to the ability and perhaps make it a bit more useful.

And since the only time that you would be guaranteed to dispel would be with 5cp and even then it would only be one buff getting removed this doesn't feel all that OP to me. This isn't something that I really think needs to happen, or that we really need a buff in this direction, but it would add an interesting new dynamic and would fit perfectly with our role as caster killers.

Now, I am not suggesting that this be implemented, I just felt like sharing this little idea I had when I was bored and thinking about possible things that will come with WotLK.

Would be ridiculously OP. Do you have any idea how fast I can spam 1 CP finishers?

Personally, I'd rather see Evis get a pure damage buff (really, just make it scale better than it currently does). A dispel would be cool, but I'm not sure that building up 5 points and then dumping them into an evis would even make it worth while. I don't really see them adding that to the rogue class (not that I would mind it... I just don't see it happening).

To be honest... I'd rather have evis giving a 10% reduction to healing per combo point for a given duration (making it similar to mortal strike). Then have wound poison replaced with something that has a % chance on hit to dispel a buff... not that it's going to happen... but I'd rather see it happen that way if it was...

I don't see it as 100% chance to remove one buff. I see it as a 20% chance to remove 5 buffs.

You flunked stats I assume? :P

The chance of all 5 20% chance eviscerates dispelling a buff is not 20%.

EDIT: Not that I agree with the OP's idea.

I liked the idea where it dealt extra damage to targets under 20% health better.

A dispel is something I'd put on a poison. With like a 10% chance of application. At best. And even then it's wacky tabacky.

Worst Idea EVER!

Rogues are fine at the moment, and IMO are in no need of being changed.

Tho Evis could do with a slight damage buff..but thats it!

How about making it heal you while we're at it, and maybe give you a 10 minute buff per combo point that raises your resistances by a percentage per combo point and it also raises your attack power and gets you laid...

Ive always passed around the idea of a mirror image type ability [like the lady in scholomance] or a fan of blades type aoe ability.

The dispel does sound a bit unlikely to be inserted but its nice to consider. We are going into 51 points and that means a whole new tier ability, correction, 3 whole new tier abilities for each class. Either buff types or a new ability unto their own. Not to mention the new abilities to be included and changes to the talent tree structure. [think of both passive and active abilities]
