2.4 badge weapons questionFollow

With 2.4 come a veritable cornucopia of fantastic raiding items for the casuals such as myself. As it stands, the obvious choice for raiding to maximize your dps is combat swords, that's a given.

It's unfortunate however that 2.4 badge items are not introducing 103DPS swords (I can only imagine how much louder the BT/Hyjal players would get if it did!) Instead fists and daggers. So, I'm curious I'm currently running around as combat swords/daggers S1 sword MH mongoose, and S2 dagger OH mongoose.

Would I benefit from going combat swords or combat fists because of the enormous difference in weapon quality? Or would my dps still lag? I apologize for not using the spread sheet, but I don't have excel and I'm running on a mac.

I would provide armory, but it seems that it isn't working for my currently.

Fists aren't too far behind Swords in terms of effectiveness. They are definitely inferior... just not massively inferior. The much, much higher DPS and better stats on the Badge weapons should far outweigh that, though.

That's what I was thinking as well. Honestly, I doubt I will ever get anything higher than Kara, as I just don't have the time. Maybe once I get everything from Kara, I might try to get into a guild that does ZA, lol. Appreciate the rather prompt response.

As per the spreadsheets I've checked out, combat fists lag behind swords by anywhere from 1-3% (t4 gear assumed). For me and my regular groups that isn't an issue (low heroics, Kara and Gruul right now).

I was planning on moving to back to swords for the t5 content, but with the new 103 fists available for badges (with better PvE stats than either s1 or s2), I'm thinking of staying fists. The damage difference between s1/s2 and the 103s would be negligible at best.

Damn that's a lot of badgers, but worth every one of 'em IMO.

*edit: But the 103s don't look very rogue-like... the yellow is so bright! It burns us!

Been spread sheeted and Combat Fists with the 2.4 fists will be ahead of swords till you get T6 equivalent Swords.

That's shocking, since the fists are T6-equivalent gear.

I would probably PVP for S4 swords, and use my badges for other purchases. If you can't hit the personal rating, you can always farm gold and get point sellers to get you that PR.

1000g seems average on my realm. There is so much ridiculous badge loot coming, so getting slightly better weapons through PVP to save 150 badges is probably the direction I would take.

I'm assuming the S3->S4 won't be as big an upgrade as S2->S3, since "T7" isn't coming, but it should still be a moderate upgrade. Odds are they'll be the best swords in the game for PVE except for warglaives and whatever is dropping in Sunwell.

Or you could PvP for S3, since the rating requirement will probably be lowered in S4 (they're still better than the 2.4 fists).

S4 swords should be on-par with Warglaives.

Minus the proc, but yeah.

Which is depressing, incidentally.

It'll have the same white damage perhaps (if it gains as much as S2->S3 did), but the weapon speed won't be as good (1.5 OH speed instead of 1.4, 2.6 MH instead of 2.8) and it won't have the proc. Plus, Blizzard have been careful not to make Warglaive equivalent weapons drop until KJ in Sunwell.

But yeah, I'd be bummed if I had Warglaives. I guess it was to be expected, as Sulfuras was far outstripped by C'thun and Naxx loot.

They could be worse. They could be as bright as the fists off A'lar.

Yeah but at least the Alar fists have that cool movement effect... those new fists look like retarded taxi cabs....

In the end... it doesn't matter... because only the actual stats are important... but I agree they don't look very rogue like...
