Which stats are important for each spec?Follow

No real prior experience as a Druid, or actually as a melee character at all, my first characters were all clothies. So whenever having to decide between armor or weapons I'm not sure which stats are more important. Could someone please give me a brief lesson about Attack Power, Crit, Agility, etc. Right now I am leveling as Feral so that is the most important to me to learn first, however in the future I'll be considering Tanking, Healing, or maybe Balance so if you could let me know how stats help each form that would be great too.

Thanks to anyone who can help, sorry for asking so much. And yes by the way I did read the FAQS but they seem to be written a few years ago and a lot of people in later posts say that those ideas/numbers/formulas are outdated. Just wanted to make sure I get up to date information.

The sticky is fully updated from the quick glance through I had. Certainly the stats sections info is fine :-

Healing Druids - +heal, Int, Mana/5, Spirit
Nuking Druids - +spell damage, +spellcrit, Mana/5, Int, Spi
Melee Druids - Str, Agi, AP, Crit, ToHit
Tanking Druids - Armor, Sta, Agi, Def, Dodge, Str

Here is a useful link with info about each of the stats for druids.

Hope that helps. Enjoy your druid! :)

Only thing I'd add would be +spell hit for Balance specs, but that's pretty rare before Outlands. And the caveat that those stats are listed in no particular order.

I would add that so hot is the agility vs. strength debate among druids, families have been broken up, fighting brother against brother, romances have ended tragically, and devoted sons have been cut out of wills over it. Definitely read the article RareBeast links and maybe experiment for yourself.

It has been shown that for almost all cases Agi is slightly better than Str. You would need something like 47%+ crit at 2000 AP for Str to be better.

This is demonstrated here
