Almost 70, need some advice :)Follow

#1 Mar 17 2008 at 5:58 AM Rating: Decent
Greetings people, after allot of playing and farming I finally acquired 2xBlinKstrike ( http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=31332;source=live ) I'm combat Spec and my question is if two blinkstrike's are a viable choice for pve. I'm currently lvl 68. Wich are the best items to get for a rogue once you ding 70?

I have 2xBlinkstrike (http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=31332;source=live);

The night watchman (http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=31333;source=live)

Stored on my bank!

Any advice?

thx :) keep on the good work...

Do not put a slow weapon in your off-hand. Never, ever in a combat spec. Read the stickies at the top and any of the 2-bubillion threads here on combat swords.

I'd sell the second Blink right off and get a flying mount at 70 (access to Tempest Keep instances). Prepare yourself to start serious instance running. Well, if you're plan is PvE that is.

Also, the season 1 weapons are superior and aren't all that hard to earn honor for. Take a trip to your friendly honor weapons vendor and take a look. At 69 you can hit the battlegrounds without being too badly out-geared (at 70 it's a whole new ball-game) and over weekend you can hit 2k honor without difficulty. Not to mention the amount of new tricks you'll learn fighting real opponents.

Good luck!

OK - my advice is simple.

1) The previous poster is right - Blinkstrike is too slow for OH. There's usually an admantite rapier on most AH's for the OH - fast and OK to start out with. But I would go further - if you don't have much money I'd sell both Blinkstrikes - flying mounts are expensive and the so-called welfare epics are better and achievable with some grinding in BGs. Most players in BGs will forgive you green mid-60s weapons if you are trying hard so just plug away until those epics are yours.

2) Shadowpanther is your friend. Work out whether you want to be PVE or PVP and start gearing up for it. Don't divide your attention or you may become bogged down and lose heart. If you want to be totally depressed try Imba

3) Do not expect to go to heroics and Kara immediately just because you are level 70. These are a lot harder than normal instances and you do not want a reputation on your server of being a liability. Wait until you have improved your gear to a reasonable level. The number one hobby on my server seems to be checking each other's gear during pauses .. your companions may not say anything about your gear but they will remember.

4) The most depressing thing I found out about L70 was that I went from feeling good for almost making it to the top at 69 to realising that making it to L70 is just half the battle. Well done and congratulations on reaching there but when an enemy in full S3 epics hands you your head without seeming to pause for breath you get to realise that gear is probably worth another 10 levels and will take longer to acquire.

5) Take the time to get lockpick 350, cooking 375 (daily cooking quest - Hot talbuk steaks ... yum ^^), first aid 375 etc. These things make your life easier .. lockpick is specially useful as it allows you to bypass the Arcatraz and Shattered Halls key requirements, opening lockboxes for fellow 70s is another good way to build up your goodwill.

6) Have fun. All work and no goofing off made Jack a very dull boy.

When you get to 70, start farming honor. Oh you'll get your rogue-ly *** kicked at first, being undergeared by the rest of the 70's farming honor. But it doesn't take very long, I got my OH on Day 1, my MH on Day 2. From there I'd keep farming honor to get the entire PVP set from Season 1. It makes a world of difference.

I was also combat, 16/41/4 or something whacky, until 70. Now that I PVP a lot I switched to one of the various builds here, 16/0/45 I think it is. Anywho, get your Season 1 weapons. Everything else is pretty much crap.

I would sell the [wowitem=31332]Blinkstrike[/wowitem] and get a [wowitem=29124]Vindicator's Brand[/wowitem] for your main hand. It's comparable but has added stats. You'll get extra swings from sword spec anyways. Blinkstrike

For off-hand you want a fast weapon for poison procs and combat potency.

[wowitem=28189]Latro's Shifting Sword[/wowitem] is a very nice one from Black Morass.

Oh and get mongoose enchant on both when you can.

Ok, first, you DO NOT want 2xblinkstrikes, you want slow MH, fast OH, also i don't know why people even suggest blinkstrike/aldor sword/latro's etc. when you can easily get 1 or both of the glad swords which are WAYYY better in a weekend.
