alright im a shaman and my friend is a rogue. Both 70s. He tells me he is speccing for both maces and swords and is going to go mace in MH and sword in the OH. He tells me that sword procs will actually proc on the MH mace. I told him i doubt it. He gets mad at me for doubting him. And that he is right. I said okay, then why have i never seen anyone ever specced and using both like he is suggesting? He says itll be good for both pve and pvp.
So this is my question. does this work? and if it does why dont i ever see anyone doing it?

Yes, Sword Spec procs from an offhand sword will use the mainhand for damage, and since the mainhand is a mace, it gains the +6% crit damage from mace spec. Actually, I'm currently working on power leveling my Blacksmithing to eventually get a Dragonstrike for that exact reason. The same thing works for hybrid sword/fist builds.
