Am I ready for heroics?

You've got awefully low HP. A large part of that may be because you're gemming to make up for the defense/avoid loss from a few relatively low-grade blues (neck, shoulder, back) as well as the bracers and belt.

Even then... played well and with a good group I'm sure you could handle the easier heroics. The *average* person in a PuG quality group or a slightly undergeared group would get wiped out pretty quick with that set-up.

I'd change the chest ASAP. Looks more like a ret/fury chest piece.

Also, enchant shoulder/cape/chest/bracer/shoes/pants/gloves.

Imho, I'd say you were a ways away from being heroic ready. Even played well... there isn't very much we can do as a paladin to mitigate damage, so get a bunch of CC if you're trying. A really solid healer would also be required to compensate for the amount of damage you're going to be taking.

Your spell damage is a tad low, at 161; 201 with oil. Even with salv, might be a little difficult if your dps is epicced out in kara/ssc/tk gear. They'd have to understand and hold back some, as well as using whatever threat-reduction skills they might have.

Professions-wise, I was in about the same spot as you, 300 blacksmithing, when I decided to drop BS altogether and pick up engineering for the goggles. The rocket launcher came in handy as well, for an easy stam trinket.

Definitely lose the chest first off. There is a nice chest piece from rep reward with aldor and a nice chest, think it's called jade fire or jade something that drops off of the final boss in botanica.

Also might want to consider losing the warchief shoulders since those are more of a tanking warrior shoulder due to the +strength and maybe look for something from the d3 set, the name eludes me for some reason.

Also lose the regal protectorate trinket and run shattered halls for the figurine of the colossus.

Need to get your shoulders enchanted, probably with the enchant from aldor, again not a hard thing to get.

And I'm a little ashamed for you that you'd even link your armory with green bracers that only have +7stamina?

There is a nice belt from the breaking into the arcatraz quest, again my brain has left on vacation and can't remember the name, but I know that it gives some nice stamina as well as +defense and I think +shield block.

The sword I think many people would argue is good, I went with the crystalforged sword and stuck the +spell damage on it. That is a personal preference since I didn't want to grind consortium rep for the sword, so I'm sure many people will argue with me about which is the better sword.

Oh also might want to consider the neck from either revered or exalted rep with cenarion, it's got a nice +defense rating, but you do lose a little stamina in the switch

And more of a personal/guild preference....lose the 3 points in pursuit of justice and put them into precision, since as a pally tank getting hit by spells and strikes = aggro; not getting hit=dead squishies and pissed off people. Plus with crusader aura the pursuit of justice is kinda a waste of 3 points

Also sorry for the long post, didn't mean for it to sound like I was preaching. But do consider changing any and all greens to at least mid 60's instance blues and always enchant. Yes it's expensive but like someone told me when I started gearing to be a tank...forget about having more than about 100g in your bank account at any one time because if you've ever got more then your gear is suffering.

Finally, ENCHANT ENCHANT ENCHANT. If you want to be taken seriously as a pally tank and continue our great legacy of being able to multiple aggro easily you've got to spend the money to enchant your gear with +stamina and only +stamina since we are the true masochists of WoW and love to get hit...it always makes us giggle cause it tickles

As I understand it, getting hit by spells isn't beneficial to generating aggro as the only way for it to do so is by Eye for an Eye proccing, and I thought mob spells can't crit. So getting missed by spells is beneficial.

And being able to run faster after loose mobs means you can go grab one faster from a squishy. The aura only helps when mounted, and I know I've never seen someone tank while mounted.

This. Just getting hit by spells does nothing for aggro. What it DOES do though is make you take damage meaning you'll need heals regening your mana. And regardless of whether mob spells crit or not it would be a huge mistake to put so many points into Ret for EfaE as a tank.

There are a number of cases where being able to move 15% faster has been very beneficial for me: Murmur, Grull, Solarian just to name a few. Conversely there have been very few cases in which I wish I didn't have that speed. Only one that comes to mind is running up to Halazzi with my Warrior MT on the off chance we might not be right on top of each other thus one of us getting totally owned by his "cleave". Good timing though makes stuff like this a non-issue as well. Some people say to just get an enchant, but I'll take +12 Stam enchant with a 15% speed/-3% spell hit talent combo over +9 stam/+9% speed enchant (accurate?) and (insert your fluff talent of choice here) combo :)

EDIT: grammar.

Not to nitpick as I do agree with the two above posters, I believe you CAN generate aggro against spellcasters via the Darkmoon Card: Vengeance proc.

That assumes you have that trinket. Smiley: tongue

Well Jack, based on his gear and gem setup, I'm going to think that it's safe to assume that he doesn't have the huge amounts of gold to drop on Vengeance. It's just so damn expensive...

But that's just me. Maybe it's was because I sucked at obtaining gold, but I would end the day with like 200 gold or less due to repairs and all that crap. Epic plate repairs blows. V.V

Mmmm... Ok guys.
Thinking the answer is NO. Cool.

Also found the gear list on the bottom of the Def/Mig sticky. I have 2 of the quest chains down to the last one (for the 5 man groups) and working on the mats for my bracers.

I'll get there. As for my talents? They are staying. I like the extra walk speed and honestly I hate spell damage. Thanks for the advice on my talents and all, but I didn't ask really. Just wanted to know if I had the gear. And that's a nope. So back to the bottle and grind me some gear.
