Hi,
I'm going to make a 2v2 arena team and was wondering whats the best partner for a retri pala? Ench shaman, ms warr or disc priest is what I've heard, not sure if its true tho?

if you're gonna not answer his question then do it right: reroll resto drood.
if staying with a ret pally you'll need someone that can dish the burst as well as take a beating. suggest: another pally, warlock, warrior. to a lesser extent a rogue, hunter, mage. you'll prob max out at 1800 rating like this.

just wondering, what is the highest rating team you've seen a retri pala in? 2v2, 3v3 or 5v5?
ret isnt as bad as it was, in fact, holy vs ret in 2v2s or 3v3s is about the same. Enh shaman i dunno, they are awfully weak. MS warrior maybe, but you will be dominated by mages. Id personally vote a ret pally+warlock combo.

even though we all see the "LOL! RET!!" saying FAR too often, ive seen many a video online with a ret pally in 2v2 just crushing the opposition. this dosent mean that your instantly good though. you have to know your class really well. but if you want the easy path, go holy.

No, they really haven't. A Ret Pally needs a Stormherald and Windfury before they really become dangerous. Their damage is just way too managable without Winfury and they can't stop (enough) heals to put anything down without some lucky mace procs.
I recommend you stick to 3's and find yourself a Resto Shaman after you max out your Blacksmithing.

Gaud was that Winfury a spelling mistake or what. It made me laugh all the same. I know Ruen thinks its Winfury!
That one was intentional. I already edited out my spelling errors. =P

i think youd have mana problems with anything other than a double DPS team.

Ret + any healer is a terrible 2v2. They're easy to control, they can't protect their healer (BoP doesn't cut it), and they can't produce enough damage on their own to kill anything on an opposing team with a healer. Repentance and Hammer of Justice are just not enough to shut any healer down long enough for you to kill them or their charge.
Get yourself another DPS and run a suicide team.
There's a decent video on WCM right now of a ret pally/bm hunter at the 2100 rating.
Mana burn a ret pally and he is about as annoying as a MM hunters pet.
Cleanse off his stun, cleanse of repentance. Purge BoF and Frostshock the target.
Burst dps is nice but with 400-450+ resilience those crits happen less often and do less damage. Also with a 6 and 8 second cooldown on CS and Judgement its pretty easy to heal through it since they don't have MS.
Not saying ret is gimped, but with class balance in a 2v2 situation it really is not all that great, but then again neither is holy.

Bode - 100 Holy Paladin - Lightbringer
Oh and those leet videos are 9 times out of 10 a Holy Paladin who has accrued BT/Hyjal ret gear and a lot of Ret pvp on the side and who respec for the weekend.
