First kara tanking. QuestionsFollow

Well last night was my first trip into kara as the MT. Overall I think it went real well. There are some spots I ran into trouble and I have some questions about ways around.

1) Maiden just give me all kinds of hell. I had hard time holding her at the start and when it went a few minutes it didn't seem to be much of an issue holding her. I started with the AS and ran in behind it and Holy shielded. Started my seals and judges, Once the dps opens she was gone fairly quickly. The silences seemed to slow me down on threat building anything I can do to top load it.

2) The mana snakes pulls just before Curator, I would shield pull them and they would come and with in seconds I was out of mana and they were all over the place lost a Healer or two on each pull. Any help here would be awesome. Just not sure what I can do here.

I am sure I will think of other things as I spend more time in Kara. I been in kara many times both on my Hunter and On Pally but mostly as healer on my Pally.
I hit uncrushable last week and that is what the guild was waiting for me to start Being Main tank for the guild. My armory is up to day except for chant on gloves will be putting the 2% threat on it shorty. Fill free to look it over and tell me what you think. I spent alot of time reading the forums just havnt posted any till now cause I could always find my answers by serching. Thanks for the time.

1) Maiden, much like Gruul, is one of those fights that is simply not favourable to Prot Pallies. Not impossible, no, but its one of those fights where a bear or prot warrior just have an easier time of it.

2) No mana = no threat, also I believe some of them are magic immune are they not?

The ones you pull after curator in the library are magic immune, but not the ones before him.

Shield, plus consecrate, with a taunt on the big guy when he blink seems to be the run of the mill approach for Prot pallies from what I am reading. Burn mana on threat before you lose it.

Jow/BoW for mana, there is also talk that cleansing the mana drain off causes threat. Not confirmed though.

In the maiden fight it's good to have all DPS hold off for 10secs. Her constant silences can be a pain if you've timed everything wrong. Never had issues if given 10secs, even if I time things horribly.

As for the wyrms/void pulls, I've always taken the wyrms(contrary to what others do apparently). You can pull from a pretty good distance, run around the door, drop a HS and 2 crates before they suck you dry... This thread is getting a little steamy..

Anyway, while everyone is taking out the voidwalker you are still gaining threat with Ret Aura up and them hitting you while you're OOM. By the time the voidwalker is dead everyone just AoE's the crap out of the wyrms. Worked well for us. GL!

My first time MT on Maiden, which was my first Kara run ever, went damn smooth. Obviously as it was pointed out, warrior or bear drood will do better, but it can definitley be pulled off. As long as you time the silences, there shouldn't be a problem doing it. Whichever skill is up (HS, judgement, Consecrate) Use that on every CD in between silences. I have yet to lose aggro from her.

The wyrms before Curator, I still have yet to figure those out, maybe I'm just missing something. I always AS pull them, run back to the room, throw up HS and consecrate. 1 more consecrate and im out of mana, but by then everything in that pull is almost dead.
