Some questions on Frost vs Fire...Follow

#1 Mar 15 2008 at 9:12 AM Rating: Decent
Hello, this is my first post on the typical *Frost vs Fire* posts alot of mages make here. I just wanted to try out fire for once, i have been frost since. I am a pvp mage, and i know that fire has a lower survivability than frost, mainly against melee classes, well thats IMO. Maybe fire does have some ways of surviving but i haven't figured out yet. I might like fire once i respec, but do you need alot of +spell damage to do insane damage with FB and Scorch? or just a nice amount?

Frost is a nice build for surviving and dealing damage at the same time, you can be very good if you know what to do with frost. How about fire?, Instant Pyroblast, scorch, fireblast, dragons breath, blastwave? how can you improve with fire, and what would you need to survive? Blazing speed seems very good to begin with.

frost will almost always be better than fire for pvp because of the snares + roots + criticals that are based on those.

that being said, for fire to be 'possible' impact, burning soul, flame throwing, improved fireball, dragon's breath, pyroblast (certain circumstances), and blastwave can all be good. If you want to PvP, I would stick with frost, there is areason that the highest rated mages are all frost.
