It helps reduce downtime.

If you just got done with a mob and your mana is fine to take on another but your HP could use a little hit, why not throw a bandage on rather than wasting mana on a Holy Light or Flash of Light.

IMO everyone should lvl it, its not hard to lvl since you find the mats all the time and it could save downtime.

It's not that big of a noob question, it's just a noob assumption that being you're a healer you don't need it. Not calling you a noob, I did it too, came to this forum, and learned from it.

First aid not only helps with that bit of downtime in between monsters but there's been plenty of times when I've had my mana drained down so much that I have the ability to bandage and get back into the action long enough to kill whoever.

I usually use it most when I duel my girlfriend, her and her viper...

But yeah, definitely take up first aid.

EVERYBODY should level first aid. It's not difficult (how much cloth do you pickup between 0 and 70??) and can save your *** when needed. I don't think there is anything worse a player can do in pug than die constantly and claim that it is the healers job to keep them alive.

All players should carry pots and bandages at all times and apply them when nessacary. For tricky raid bosses dps can step back and bandage themselves, thus taking some strain away from the healers, and during instance runs it can reduce down times.

Not forgetting bubble+bandage ftw!!!!

When one's out of mana, use the class's CC or root or something, and bandage up. I've always used bandages on my mage, rogue, priest, and shaman.

I don't use bandages between fights at all. My HP isn't ever a concern between fights. I could take on another group if I'm at 30% without too much hassel. It's the MP that kills me between fights, and for that I'm going to be drinking anyway, so I might as well eat.

I *DO* use bandages in combat though. If some really unusual curveball hits you, or you're soloing an elite that you know will take EVERYTHING you have to down.. they work wonders. Unload your damage early with Wings, when Forbearance is up, hit your long bubble, bandage and put off 1 heal if you have to, when Forbearance is up, hit your short bubble (BoP) and repeat, once everything's been expended hit your LoH. You literally have to die four times before you're done, but it's hard to have the mana to pull that off if you're bubble healing all the time instead of bandaging.

While I agree that lvling it up is a must I don't think it's as urgent on my pally as it was on my mage and war. Since my pally is on a new server different then my mains I can't just hit up a daily or 2 and sent 20-30g to my pally. Cloth is a really good source of income while lvling. Combined with mining (my other is JC cuz i've never tried it) my pally has 110g at lvl 32 right now.

Just look at your AH prices of cloth and see where you need to get. On my pallys server a stack of wool is going for 2g and a stack. I can always come back with a mount and farm some wool later on. Since silk is going for 30s a stack I'll just keep some of that in the bank and use it later.

You should always lvl it up, but you don't always have to do it from the start.

I stopped leveling my FA once I was in my 30s or so. I figured, "I don't need bandages, I have healing spells!" After hitting 60 (before XP) I decided there were too many times that I wished I had the ability to use bandages that I went back and farmed up cloth to skill up my FA to max, and once the XP hit, I skilled it up to max again as quickly as I could. Particularly as Prot with an already limited mana pool it's great to be able to bandage up that lost health rather than have to use my mana for it.

Definitely. You have no idea how much First Aid has saved me.

During an elite fight or multiple mob fight I usually pop off Divine Shield and then use a bandage. Healing 3600 HP without having to use mana is a god send.

During that time I usually regen another 100 mana so in the end it heals me for 3600 hp, regens 100 mana and saves an additional 700-1500 mana from not having to heal.
