Part #1
I just need some direction. I think I've been doing the wrong things to build a better character.
When I turned level 70 I started fighting in the bg's to gain honor points to acquire better armor. Which I have done except for boots and belt. I have also changed my talents a number of times to match talents of hunters with great bg performance.
My problem as I see it is that according to other hunters armory page descriptions
that I compare my character with, do not seem that far from my makeup except for having purple weapons. Question is "should I have been using my honor points first to buy top line weapons or armor as I did? Others have weapons that show 1200 to 1800 pts. in power rating, where mine is just 900+. My 2h axe is 87.3 and my bow is a Valanos bow that is rated at 66.4.I see many hunters using this bow.For example the top of the line 2h axe in the Champions Hall is rated at <118 pts. Could this 30 point differential add up to that much power rating?
part #2
Can someone explain to me the proper use of the misdirection shot?
part #3
Also...I lose control of my character all the time in battle. I have the "Insignia of the Alliance" but it doesn't seem any different than when I had something else rated green in that spot. The description of the this trinket "Insignia of the Alliance" states that loss of character control won't happen. What should I set as a goal for a trinket to control this problem?
Please don't trash me too bad. I just need better direction.

1. Your attack power doesn't only come from weapons. It comes from all your gear. For a hunter you power comes from any +agility and +attack power enchants and bonuses with your gear.

You have a lot of +strength which is a waste stat on a hunter. One of the reason's your attack power is low is you're not getting any from your axe. The only stats that are actually contributing to your character from the axe is +stam and +crit. Spell damage, spell crit and strength do nothing for you.

2.
Misdirection is pretty straight forward, but also useles if all your doing is battlegrounds. It's a PVE ability.

You target either your pet or another party member, then hit misdirect. You then target the mob you want to send their way and start hitting it. The first three hits will send all the threat to whoever you targetted with your misdirect.

3.
You're missing a key word with your trinket.

"Use:"

You have to activate to break whatever is causing you to lose contol of your character.

4. I would also check you're talen points compared to those posted in the hunter faq at the top of the forum

PvP gear is for PvP. PvE gear drops out of instance runs and some is crafted. The Beast Lord set is a good example. You can safely include a couple pieces of PvP gear in a PvE set. However more will gimp you on boss fights in particular. You don't need nearly as much stamina for PvE. More agility and intellect is preferred. Plus you need +hit for boss fights in PvE and PvP gear has none of that. So, you need two sets, one for PvP and another for PvE. Other than that, I'm no help with PvP questions. I figure you'd just keep at it until you fill out your PvP armor set.

#2 Misdirection is only useful in PvE which is how I thought you might have been mixing up PvE and PvP in question 1. When a tank pulls a group its nice for hunters to cast misdirection on the tank and start shooting. That way the hunter's hits also cause the tank to generate hate. I'll often start off with 'aimed shot' right after casing misdirection. Misdirection only works on your first three shots after casting it. Hence hitting with 'aimed shot' maximizes the hate on the tank.

3# 'Insignia of the Alliance' requires you to use it. It has to be equipped as a trinket but you also have to click on it when you want the action, removing all debilitating effects, to proc.

Some of your armor and weaponry have +strength and +spell penetration, useless to a hunter. Replace that gear first.
