Im leveling an enhancement shaman alt and I was wondering if Blacksmithing is worthwhile. My plan was to either do axes or maces. Sorta leaning towards maces though for a stormherald since next patch the vortexes won't be a problem. Leveing the blacksmithing also isn't a problem since my rogue can farm/buy everything for it. My question is though, is a dragonstrike/stormherald useful for a shaman?

Why not just go with S1 weapons? Even if you don't like pvping, I still think its better than lvling up blacksmithing just for weapons. And with 2.4, you can buy S2 weapons with honor most likely.

Yes/yes. The problem is that if you go Blacksmithing, you've basically pigeonholed yourself into Enhancement or you've just wasted a ton of time and money, so you better be damn well sure that you intend to stay Enhancement for the rest of your WoW career as that Shaman.

Other than that, absolutely, Dragonstrike and Stormherald are both great.

Don't waste your time with Stormherald, it's near useless in PvE and PvP. In PvE you need to be DWing to get max DPS, same with PvP, especially with the way Resillience works, you will see far better burst with Dragonstrike and a slow OH than Stormherald.

Stormherald does stun though, which leaves something to be said for it. Not that I'm arguing with you, I would dual-wield in PvP as well if I was still Enhancement, but there is still virtue there.
