I started playing by level 60 feral druid again, with the intent of getting him to 70. I decided I needed a serious equipment upgrade and just completed the first quest in the feralheart line (for the bracers) - it was enjoyable as I've always liked Winterspring (must be my Canadian blood). Because I am a casual PvE/solo player who doesn't have time to do instances (unfortunately), I have to obtain all my equipment from drops, solo quests and the AH. So with that in mind, I have a few questions about the feralheart set:

1. Are all the quests to get the set ones that I can do solo?
2. It looks like a rather expensive set of quests so are the pieces worth the investment (yeah, I know that's subjective)?
3. Are there other pieces or sets of equipment that I should consider instead as I move towards level 70?

Thanks.

Since you already lvl 60 you should get your furry behind to outland asap. Nothing in the old world compares to the drops and quest rewards of early outland zones.

The first Outland Quested Green you get is going to be better than anything, literally, that you would have to work your butt off to get in Azeroth. Head to Outland and start gearing up...by the time you're done with Hellfire you'll have a mixed set of good Green's/Blue's that will demolish T3.

1. I think the second step is also soloable (it's been a while though), but certainly later parts of the chain require instance runs.

2. It's a cool looking set, other that that it's not worth it at all. As others have posted there will be much better drops/rewards stat wise in outland.

To the Outlands I go then. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, Feralheart was crap even before the expansion came out. Hybrid gear just means you end up being crap at everything.

Mind you I get lots of nice complements from people when I am strolling around Shat in my 8/8 Feralheart.

The quest chain is long and hard and there are a few bits that are impossible to solo even at 70. You have to do a 45min UD Strat run, which is probably soloable at 70, but I couldn't quite kill Baron by myself. You also have to do a summoned boss in UBRS to complete the chain which at 60 was one of the hardest bosses in the game. Easily done with a few 70's now, but certainly not soloable.

On the other hand starting Outlands is fun because the upgrades come thick and fast, you get greens in Outlands that can beat some of the best epics in the game from pre-BC.

The last boss in the chain can still wipe a full party of lvl 70's if people don't know what they are doing. I tried him on lvl 70 with my mage. Explained tactics to the group, and still we wiped because noone killed the adds :P Got him killed in second try though and i had forgotten my quest amulet in the bank :'( Dumped the quest and sharded the tier 0 head and chest in dissapointment :P
