How much HP should I have to survive long enough in arena's?

i would say maybe 8k starting and 10k+ as you try to get into higher rating brackets. but i'm more PVE focused and just do a little PVP so you might wait for tommyguns or ruenbahamut or dathur to answer.
try to reach for about 11k or 12k, its not hard to get there with all PvP gear. Its what I aimed for when I was heavier into the PvP.
to maintain a 1500 rating:
10k hp, 6k mp, 200 resil, 1500 AP, 25% crit. all unbuffed.

i agree mostly with dilbertt except stam and str/crit instead of spell damage...

My wifes mage has over 9k unbuffed with her S1 set plus another purple or two and her gems are a mix (only two +sta). She does have several stamina enchants. I would think paladin S1 has more base sta the mage but I'm not sure.

im not good for the arena advise, i'm stuck at 1500~ for 2s, only one peice of S3 right now, so my Res is blah.
it doesnt help that every other fight is a duel S2-S3 lock or some other combo with full S3 person chopping people in half. i waited to get full set of S1-vind before even carring about arena. so im still learning.
