Until you get Deadly Throw it is of no consequence. Ranged weapon damage is inconsequential. All you really want is the stats/something that does any damage at all tp pull with.
So whichever of the two gives most stat bonuses.

Thats basically it in a nutshell, you dont know how useful deadly throw is to catch fleeing enemies :)

Providing the weapons bonus is equal I would take thrown. Generally you are not killing with range, so the dps isn't that important. Plus if you are levelling the extra bag space is very handy.
