Pally in a Duo scenarioFollow

Hello. I'm fairly new to WoW and very new to playing a pally, so your help will be much appreciated.

My question pertains to where I should place my Talent points. Here's the scenario:

I'm a 33 Pally and Duo with my friend who is a Tauren Warrior. We have good gear with enchants, so I find that I rarely have to throw heals on my friend. The plan is that he is the tank, and I am DPS/heals. I'm using 2H weapons and am focusing my gear primarily around Agi and Str, followed by Int. Also, My pally is an Alchemist, so my buddy and I always have elixir buffs up.

I've recently decided to respec because I had 12 points in holy, but I feel that I only need 5 there for Divine Strength. I have 5/5 Imp BoM, 2/2 Imp Judgement, 3/3 SotC, and 1/1 SoC.

So here is where I am stuck with what to do with my 8 remaining TP. I find that although I am doing awesome damage, I miss a lot. I want to throw 3/3 points into Precision, but since my buddy is such a great tank, 5/5 Imp Devotion Aura seems like a waste of 5 points. Should I grab precision, or stick the points in Ret?

I should add that the purpose of this character is to be a high level Alchemist, so my friend and I arent really interested in doing much more with these characters than leveling very quickly.

Thanks!

Seeing your last line: do whatever you like, you will fly through levels when questing with two chars easily, any setup.

More to the point: if your friend can hold the aggro, you can heal when needed without the interruption talent in holy, so good change there. And, if he does, you will not need a shield either. So: ret all the way, while you always keep a bit of spare mana for a heal when needed (or a blessing of protection/bubble).

The miss rate should be about 5% against equal level mobs, higher against higher level mobs. Try to do the quests meant for your level and your missing will not be as often as you make it sound. The first tier of talents in the protection tree are SO poor for you if your buddy tanks that it is a waste of points. Max your damage (ret) and fly, man... fly!

You will be 70 in no time and you will start to love your pally along the way /smile. I make a bet for a chocolate cookie that once you hit 70, you can not just put your pally aside and have him/her for herbalism only. There is just too much fun spelled in paladin.

yaya, Ret all the way if you are questing with a warrior buddy. I wouldn't put a point anywhere else until you get Crusader strike, then I'd probably still stick with the ret tree and fill in some other cool sounding talents.

Yes ret will work well for two person parties like yours. I was half tempted to say shockadin (see http://www.wowwiki.com/Shockadin) because it will give you healing and offensive spell-casting capabilities but you wouldn't be able to work that into your build till you get enough talent points. Something to consider in the future, though.

Thanks for the advice, I'll just keep plowing through the Ret tree for now. I'll definitely take a look at Shockadin too :)

Shadow Priest? Nah, I like skewering things with my polearms >:)
