Gladiator's Xbow and BMFollow

#1 Mar 12 2008 at 7:26 PM Rating: Decent
Hey everyone, been using these boards since FFXI came out, but rarely ever post. Been playing WoW since release, and mainly hunter, but I sometimes get epic happy and make some bad purchases. I scanned the boards to look for a similar thread, so apologies in advance if I ask something that's brought up once a week or more.

Anyways, I'm a BM spec hunter at the moment. I'm only PvPing right now, but in the next month I'm looking towards starting into Kara (GF moving in and getting high speed for the two of us). I'm very close to the stats that Aethien has listed to shoot for before getting into Kara, but as I wait for the months to go by gold is stacking up and honor and tokens are as well.

The question is, at the moment I'm using a Valanos' Longbow (who hasn't?) and the steady shot rotation. I was wondering if the Gladiator's Xbow for my spec is a legitimate upgrade if I have the honor and the marks to attain it. Or should I grab something else instead and save for the Don Santos (not a big gun fan for personal reasons)? And also, if it's not a worthy upgrade, could you tell me exactly why and if it has to do with anything besides weapon speed?

Thanks a lot for the help and all of the conversations I've read. This community has certainly made me a better player. Thanks again.

pvp X-bow isnt too good for BM due to the sloooooooow speed.
you're probably better off waiting for the kara Xbow/WSR or buying DS

I'd definitely wait for Wolfslayer for BM, or the new Heroic Badge Xbow reward! S1 Xbow has great dps, but the speed sucks for you. I love my S2 Phoenix Xbow on my MM/SV (or SV/MM for raids) though...

Also, once S2 comes out for honor pts, i'd invest in some of that to upgrade whatever else you won't upgrade in Kara.

I went from using the Valanos' Longbow to using the S1 Xbow. Because of its speed, it's more of a side-grade than an upgrade. So it was a lot of work and money for absolutely no increase in DPS.

I really only suggest working on getting it if you have my luck, and run Kara for months and never see ANY of the weapons. Spend your honor on more worth-while pieces like the non-set epics.

collect 150 heroic badges and buy the amazing new crossbow in 2.4

I wouldn't say the glad xbow is worth it, unless you have nothing else to buy.

Thanks a lot for the input everyone. Definitely appreciate it, and yeah, not looking for many side-grades. Even if they are cool looking. I picked up the nonset epic boots and should have the bracers tomorrow. Thanks again.

Is that your cat eating that corn on the cob? Wow, I've never seen a cat so interested in a vegetable before, and I offer my cats a chance to munch on just about everything I'm eating.

This might be the picture you're looking for.
