Tanking Outland. iFail?Follow

To be an effective tank, you also need to know what other classes are capable of bringing to the table. I'm not too sure how hard it would have been for the priest to Shackle some mobs, if any. (better for a spriest to do since they don't have to focus on healing) I can't recall what all can be shackled, but its just a suggestion. But, knowing what classes can do what can often be a saving grace, that or you just reform another group with a better composition..

Coulda had the lock kite one behind the group and then just fear bomb it...the lock should be able to solo that one, dots, sb, fear...fear...fear...if its still up..then its all urs!

That's impressive (unless you had an over-geared party). Those 6 mob pulls before Blackheart the Inciter (the mind control boss) were tough. I couldn't have even imagined trying it with a regular geared group and no CC. Nice job.

Not something that I would do again. We did wipe a few times there but it was doable. More of a guild run so most of us were geared in only pre-kara blues and epics. Pretty frustrating but we had fun on Vent. CC is nice to have but not really needed in regular instances but in heroics, CC is not a luxury but a must.

Or just learn to tank properly like everyone did in the past. I'm getting tired of this response, and what it's making the community think about tanking. A ****** could tank as a pally. This is not to detract from pally tanking. I love pally tanks. It's irritating to see people that think that every pull inside an instance is supposed to be an AoE pull however, when it just wasn't designed that way. He could also not reroll pally and force his party members to play their classes as they were intended to be played, and learn party mechanics, rather than just EZ mode AoEing through the instance.

Honestly I have to say that Pali remark is kinda... well it's not relivent to the here and now. I have a Pali tank as well as my warrior.

I rolled the warrior for a pure tear my enemy apart feel that they bring to the table. No magic. Just them, Me, and a little bit of luck.

I <3 my warrior, I don't really wanna reroll a pally, and that's kinda irrelevant, anyway, now that this has got rather derailed, and I think all helpful input has already been, well, input, that it's time to end this thread Smiley: nod

Thanks for all the advice ya'll.
