Darkmoon Card: CrusadeFollow

Sooo...when I take a look on some sites like "Therycraft-o-matic" from Lhivera or http://www.maxdps.com/mage/fire.php, I see this trinket just under Skull of Gul'dan and Hex Shruken Head and I'm wondering if it's a good thing to buy this deck. The whole problem is the money invested...something like 1000g+, it´s not cheap and I wouldn´t like to see a minimal bump on my DPS only.

I'd like to know if anybody here has some real experience with this Trinket and if it's realy worth the money spent. Is the DPS increase notable? Is it hard to reapply on fights that are not only "tank and spank"?

Thanks in advance

It was a pretty noticeable bump in DPS for my friend(a shadowpriest). What are you using right now?

Have you thought about this trinket - http://thottbot.com/i32771 ?

It seems simular - you need to exalted with the Skyguard, but it won't cost you much gold.

Don't know it compares with the Darkmoon Fair deck.

I'm gonna say this in the nicest way I possibly can.

I'm sorry, but you really don't know what you're talking about. The trinket you linked is ridiculously weak for raiding. Even the Battlemaster's trinkets are better(not by much, though). I would go so far as to say that the trinket you linked is worse for raiding(it's awesome for soloing though) than some green trinkets you can find from level 62 quests.

The only thing I can possibly think is that you misread the OP and thought that he was talking about Darkmoon Card: Wrath, which is indeed an equally craptacular trinket.

Wow, that's quite literally the meanest I've ever seen Poldaran in my brief time lurking in/posting on alla. Is this a testament to how nice Pol usually is...or how much Pol really really hates trinkets?! ;)

Anywho I'm guessing Zalen misunderstood the Skyguard trinket to proc on any death caused by the group/raid he was in, as opposed to only the deaths caused by the wearer of the trinket. That would make it somewhat more viable anyway, if it didn't require the killing blow.

This is comparable to my previous misunderstanding of Spirit Tap on my baby priest--that would be some seriously OP mana efficiency if Spirit Tap proc'd for the hpriest everytime a group killed a mob.

edit: wording/clarity

I have Icon of the Silver Crescent, Scryer's Bloodgem, Quag's Eye and The Lighting Capacitor. All of them I use situationaly. On PvE I have always the Icon and or Bloodgem or Quag's Eye (boss = the former, trash = the later). As long as my Spell Hit is increasing, I see the Bloodgem become worst day by day and was wondering if the Card would help.

Thanks for the responses so far (and sorry for my spelling)

You guessed right. I didn't read the post properly - I'm at work (never good at multi-tasking!) I didn't realise he was talking specifically about raiding. The Skyguard Trinket is good for solo work, but your right - it would really suck for raiding with.

While you will likely see a fair increase, the question becomes how much, really. The trinkets you have are actually quite good, so the increase won't be as great as the one my friend saw, assuming you've been using trinket macros to make sure that your trinkets are up as often as possible.

That said, unless your prospects of getting a replacement for the Bloodgem are pretty decent in the relatively near future(say, the serpent coil braid or a hex shrunken head, for instance), the upgrade will probably be quite noticeable.
