So i go cruising the Ah and I see this weapon no Buy Out price so i figured i'll get outbid anyway...the bid was for 1200g50s. I get to my mailbox today and I won the darn thing.. So I go out and farm for my Felstalker Set. I just dinged 70 Btw 3 days ago. I need to still get better gear...

For you the only upgrades are WSR, Barrel Blade and the 150 badge costing Xbow of flowery doom.
Maybe a couple of BT/Hyjal/Sunwell bows, but it wont be much.
edit: now start running Durnholde for cape and legs, mech for helm and SV for shoulders ;)

Long answer: While you did pick up a very nice weapon (and the proc rate is rather well, the gun has a 91.5 dps when the blessing kicks in) you don't have the gear to supplement it. If you think about running kara, you need to get outta your greens and go get some blues at least. It always pain me to see someone with an awesome weapon, but they are all covered in greens. Bite the bullet, get your sonic spear, and your beast lord set. Then you will see how powerful that weapon really is.
Sonic spear: Shadow labs last boss
Beast lord armor: Bot, Steamvaults, Shattered halls, and Mech.
If you don't want to spend alot of time with getting a sonic spear, at least spend some time getting Terrok's quill. I really hate seeing people come into kara decked out in greens. If you don't spend the time to get ready for it, then you will only hurt the raid as dead wieght when it comes to upper kara time.
Short answer: Yes. good job.

You could also join a random arena team and do arenas for 3-4 weeks and get the Vengeful Gladiator's Waraxe or whatever it's called for hunters that costs like 1025 arena points.

I am very aware of my gear at this time..I "KNOW" that it is in DIRE need of improvement. I'm still a fresh 70 and just put together my "leveling" gear from drops and quests. I do need to spend more time in Dungeons. The ones i've been in as a PUG generally was pathetic, or leaving MID-way.
I've been running SL for the spear and still have to find a decent group to do SV for my Head gear (Reward). I will try and go for the rest of the Dungeons and be "Kara" ready as soon as I get geared up.

I agree. I don't think that Item is worth the money. My friend just found that item and was so happy cause in the AH on my server it sits at 2.5k and that would be a nice kickstart to his epic flier.
But I told him the damned thing prolly won't sell because not many new 70's will either have the money or want to dump that kind of money on a gun that they can get an equivilent to in Kara.
When they can pay 10g for Valano's and raid using that weapon until they get WSR or the few other options which would be an improvement on their Valanos that cost them 10g instead of paying 2k for that and getting WSR the first run and being mad that they wasted 2k.
Meh at least you got it cheap. ;D

Well my server's economy is a "little" screwed up.
Bought my Valanos on buyout for 19g.
I could've bid as low as 13 but I'm impatient. Seven gold isn't worth it for me to wait around to get it. If I recall right, there were about 6-7 of them for sale.

Now that I've used the gun for a little...I find that this thing IS worth the price i paid for it. It procs almost every mob I attack..Grinding/farming mats is a lot quicker and the animation is just awesome.
Proc+Trinket+Proc on Pet = UBER I just pulled aggro off my charging pig moment. :P

On my server, Valanos' drops just before you hit 70.
Don santo's proc can be averaged to 104 AP. just fyi. Also, get the new badge xbow in 2.4
