I really despise posting build questions, but this is more of a theory build. I have a priest that is currently level 22 (shadow specced) and I love it. I know how most people will say "level shadow" and whatnot, but they never say whether or not you should go full shadow.

First of all, I propose this build, (30 / 0 / 31).

It is geared toward soloability. VT is more of a group ability for the mana, even though it is an extra dot. It skips misery for force of will, which gives the same bonus on all offensive spells along with an added bonus of 5% crit. Shadow power is a nice talent, but it will help at 2 points in a fight, generally an opener of mind blast and a finisher of SW: D. Divine spirit (and its improved version) look to be very nifty to say the least, especially if you are grinding on multiple mobs at a time and spirit tap kicks into gear. The best part is, you still get to keep shadow form, which is a totally wicked ability.

Any thoughts?

Couple of things... first are you planning PvP or PvE or trying a hybrid of both. I am not sure that 3 points in black out is even worth it. Those 3 points if you are not maxing the skill will be way better placed by using those 3 points in Shadow Focus for better spell penetration. The last thing you want is to have a spell resisted and normally 2 or 3 points is enough in this area.

Next up... wand specialization versus Unbreakable Will, again I guess it depends on what you are planning on doing. Once you get to a certain level I barely ever used my want as SW:D is so much more fun. Add on the one trinket for soloing to gain 200 extra mana for a killing blow that you receive from Sporeggar in Underbog and you do not have to worry about mana efficiency too much. Even without this you are looking at 6 - 7 mobs plus prior to needing to sit and drink. UW is just a better and more useful talent if you plan on doing ANY PvP of any sort.

Silent Resolve is wasted as you said you will be running in Shadow Form and so that means it does nothing for you what so ever. Get rid of the point there. Also, Inner Fire does not scale well period, so worthless IMO, go with a skill focused as

1st lvl talents - your preference as stated 5 points
Fort = 2
Improved Shield = 3
MArtydom = 2
Meditation = 3
Inner Focus = 1
Mental Agility = 4
Divine Spirit and Improved DS = 3
Mental Strenth = 2
Force of Will = 5

You will get the Force of Will still which your logic is suprisingly potentially sound on a base level and assuming that you go back and forth between Shadow and non shadow form to a certain degree. However, I will let you know that with all talents and + dmg/crit gear I am hitting about 25% crit which boosts my chance to crit with Mind Blast and SW:D up to over 40%. With talents and fears, I am throwing out 2.5 mind blasts on average of which one I can almost gtd will crit for 2200+ damage. I would rather be able to depend on a crit at least once then on a 5% increase in damage and crit chance. I am not a Warcraft Theory person, I just know how the game seems to play, and that is why your build is interesting, I do not see it as overly viable, even if you only plan to solo play.
