Ok, so I'm a feral druid currently main/off tanking kara and I just picked up a new mouse! my old mouse had the standard two buttons pluss a scroll wheel clicker (which I set for auto run). Now to the point. my new mouse has an extra two buttons and I have no clue what to use them for! any suggestions?

I personally use mine for auto-run and switch between walk and run.

That's just how I do it. Never have found a need to have that many things keybound with my Druid, seeing as we get a seperate actionbar for each form.

My mouse4 is auto-run, mouse3 I have unbound, and mouse5 I usually use for a push-to-talk key.

However, one of the great things about extra buttons is when you make macros, you can make it so they do different things on different clicks. i.e. if you wanted to have a macro that cast mangle when it's up, swipe if there's multiple mobs, lacerate if it's a single mob, and FFF if it's down, you can use a macro like:
Quote:
/cast [button:1] mangle; [button:2] swipe; [button: 4] lacerate; [button: 5] faerie fire feral
#showtooltip mangle

Then when you left-click the button on the action bar, you mangle (and the icon will be for mangle, showing the cooldown, etc), when you right click it will swipe, when hit the thumb button (the rear one if there's two on the left side) it will lacerate, and when you hit the last button it will cast FFF.

I used macros like that for blessings on paladins, stings on hunters, etc. In case you're wondering, if you have [button:3] on a macro like that (which is the scroll-wheel click) it will not make you auto-run.

I bind auto run, travel form and flight form to my mouse. I could still add more but I'm pretty comfortable with my current hotkeys.

I've got a Logitech mouse with 5 buttons plus a scrolling wheel in the middle. Utilizing an awesome feature of my Bongos2 action bar addon that I didn't know existed until I leveled druid, I have all my cat and bear skills bound only to the mouse (they automatically switch between forms for me).

Basically it's like this. Two buttons on the side, three up the middle plus the scroll wheel. I have pressing the scroll wheel as auto-run. Scrolling the wheel up serves as tab for next target, scrolling it down is previous target (holding alt then up or down will target friendly targets, next and previous). I then just have the 5 buttons set with a combination of alt and ctrl.

I know that doesn't help, but this might. Bind what you use the most. Depending on button position, some might be more comfortable to hit repeatedly than others, so prioritize. The easiest buttons get the most useful and frequently used skills. And combining alt, shift and ctrl just makes it that much more versatile. If I really wanted to I could set my mouse buttons to perform 15 different things (due to the nature of my keyboard I don't really use the shift button in tandem with the mouse, only alt and ctrl).

My five buttons are all for movement:
Left/Right: Move/Turn
Middle: Backwards
4: Strafe left
5: Strafe right

I use Healbot despite being feral even just for self-healing. There my buttons are:
Left: Healing Touch
Middle: Regrowth
Right: Rejuv/Shift-Right: Lifebloom
4: I actuallly can't remember what I did with this one. Tranquility maybe.
5: Barkskin

I move with my mouse and use keys for abilities/spells.

Mousewheel up = cat form (1st click) & prowl (2nd click)
Mousewheel down = bear form (1st click) & enrage (2nd click)
Thumb button = Auto run

On unit frames :-

right click = rejuv
thumb button = HT
alt leftclick = regrowth

Shift leftclick = decurse
shift rightclick = depoison

alt-shift leftclick = MotW
alt-shift right click = thorns
******** thumb button = OOC

ctrl-shift left button = GotW

The mousewheel thing, is it on scrolling, or clicking? You mention both mousewheel up/down and 1st/2nd click, hence the confusion.

Mousewheel is bound to SmartBuff on my character. Anytime I scroll, be it up, or down, SmartBuff will buff any buffs that need rebuffing, such as Omen of Clarity if it's about to fade.

I use my side buttons for strafe too, the other buttons (and wheel) have their default functions.

The buttons I used the most are scrollup and scrolldown. For example, scrolldown will shift me to cat on first "click", then use prowl, then use pounce, and then while in combat, will use mangle. Scrollup will do Shred.

In bear form, scroll down will Maul. Scroll up will Feral Charge and Growl, since they have different range I'll end up using only the one I need, or both if I spam it.

If I did more PvP, I'd map every other combat ability somewhere in there as well so I don't ever have to take my hands off the movement keys of the keyboard. Hesitation = Death :P

My mouse wheel has "notches" when you scroll it - I mean I turn it one notch to shift then another to prowl/enrage.
