Why is stamina worth more than strength for leveling? Stamina doesn't increase your damage output and the more damage you deal, the faster you kill things, complete quests and gain levels.

Extra stamina is needed for PvP and tanking. Your heals should be more than enough to keep you afloat while you're leveling.

I'd focus on getting of the Tiger and of the Wolf/Boar gear.

"But Wolf/Boar gear is spirit and agility/strength! Wtf? Spirit?"

Yeah, spirit. Because having low amounts of health requires more healing, meaning you'll drain your mana faster. You'll still regenerate like a crazy while in your forms, but with a decent amount of spirit, you'll never run low.

Of course, one might argue that having more health will allow you to continue for longer before healing up, meaning you'll have more time to regenerate in. I do not question this argument and it is quite the preferred way to go on PvP realms where you might need the extra health if you get ambushed by an enemy player, but for pure leveling, pure solo PvE, get agility, strength and spirit, in that order, I'd say.

I'd agree with Mazra, Strength and Agility for the win. However, spirit would be lower on my totem pole than stamina. Stamina is great for those occasions when you overpull or get adds (and they will happen). Keep in mind that dire bear (and bear?) forms increase your stamina by a hefty %. More stamina as a base will make even more when the going gets tough and you shift to bear form to take on the friends your target brought along.

Also, as Mazra mentioned, if you want to PvP or tank at all, you'll need stamina. For these reasons, I'd take stamina over spirit, but agility and strength come first for fast leveling.

Also, do NOT get any proc items or enchants. They don't work when shifted. Most people know this, but I just wanted to emphasize :)

I consider stamina very important while levelling, especially on a PvP server. Stam > spirit by far, since stamina affects your longevity while spirit affects your mana regen. On my druid, I was almost always at full mana whenever I shifted out to heal, so long as I didn't have too many tough fights in a row. And I had virtually no spirit.

Spirit isn't really needed. Or, well, it's situational. If you have a great rotation going which allows you to regenerate all your mana while fighting in animal forms before popping out to heal, excellent! Spirit should only be considered if you're having trouble regenerating the mana you spend on healing yourself.

I'd say Tiger > Monkey > Bear until outlands, then Beast > Bandit. Unless you want to spend a lot of money buying pieces off the AH, take the green/blue drops with any combination of Sta/Agi/Str that you get as you find them. Also, when it comes to weapons, the only important stat is what it adds to your stats. Weapon speed, weapon damage, and the avg DPS are irrelevant.
