My beloved Darnassian owl, which I've had since level 10 (well over a year now) has become a rare bird of sorts. I dubbed him "nicehooterz", and aside from a brief stint where I tried out a scorpion and a spider, has been my trusty companion through to Outlands (and beyond on the PTR).

I log in this evening and notice some new mail, OOoo! How exciting!

Not.

Apparently either Blizz was real slow on tracking this heinous crime down, or some bible-thumper objected. He has now been auto renamed "Spot", of the rare NorthWestern variety I guess, and Blizz won't rename it.

Hooter: one who/that hoots. Owls hoot, and are therefore hooters. It's your pet, so I'd assume it's nice.

WTH?!

I named my first owl ILikeHooters. I never got contacted about it and never saw anyone complain. I guess I was lucky.

Well perhaps I'll go tame another one and name it that, if you don't mind. I like it, even though Blizzard will probably get all Samuel L Jackson on me and strike me down with furious vengeance for such an obvious act of defiance.

And yet I see cat names with very imaginative uses of the word "wussy with a "p" in front" all of the time...

Guess it just takes one humorless SOB.
