Fury PvP buildFollow

#1 Mar 08 2008 at 1:25 PM Rating: Decent
I stopped playing just before the BC came out. Lately I've been thinking of coming back to the game. I've got some questions though.
First question is, can Fury pvp well with all the crap that was done to it (TM move, DW and Imp. Intercept in Arms)?
Second how hard are the Arena PvP items to get?
Lastly what are some good PvP builds now?

1) yes, in BG's and 5v5, you can wreak some havoc before you get noticed, but generally you want to spec arms for the MS debuff.

2) the s1 and vindicator items just require some honor farming, so a few BG weekends and you're set. s2 and up do require the minimum 10 arena games per week to get points for, and most of s3 does not require a personal rating; so yes, you can suck at arena and get many s3 pieces.

3) something like this is ok, though i'm hardly a pvp expert. generally you want something with MS, second wind, imp intercept, imp slam, and mace spec.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have been more clear on the fact that I will not play anything but DW Fury. And that what I ment by "how hard are they to get" was how much time does it take.
Is s1 and vindicator good enough for me to PvP well in?
Agian sorry for not being clear. It's good to know that I'll be able to do okay in BGs.
BTW made a build that I think looks good, but I can't the URL to work :(.

Honestly, you're not going to do well in arena as fury, and you'll have a difficult time finding a team as fury for various reasons. First, PvP is and always has been about burst, and this is something fury doesn't really have. Sustained damage doesn't mean much against someone being healed constantly, and this is the case in arenas. Resilience from arena gear is also a direct hit to fury. A lot of your damage output comes from flurry, which requires you to crit, and resilience directly nerfs your ability to do just that. You lose out on 2/2 imp. intercept being fury, which leaves you more open to being kited. You miss out on things like Second Wind, which are essential for warrior arena. The biggest hit is that, honestly, while warrior burst is strong, warriors are nowhere near the wrecking balls in damage that we used to be. There are plenty of classes that can do similar levels of damage to us...the reason warriors are brought in for the fun is MS, pure and simple. The 50% healing debuff is essential when trying to focus fire and burn down an arena target who's being healed.

If you want to spec fury for BGs and low end arena for fun? Go for it, though don't expect to be insanely successful. If you want to get into more high end arena, you should honestly go for arms.

As for the gear, it all depends on the time you have to spend. I put togther 3/5 S1 in about a week, but I had time to kill. Like so many other things, your mileage may vary.

As many has pointed out allready, DW fury is probably not the best PvP option. However, I would like to point out that it is not at all crap!

The main reason why DW fury is not a rock solid PvP build, is beacause of burst damage. With arms you will be able to put out some great burst damage compared to fury. And you want burst damage. Why? What will a mage do? What will a hunter do? They will all try to get away from you melee range. So that means every time you get to swing at them, you should have as high damage as possible. And you won't get with fury.

As people have pointed out allready, you will miss out on some great talents, like Deathwish, Imp. Intercept, Second Wind, Mortal Strike.

This is however a viable DW fury build in my eyes

Wow, Fury's took a big hit! I used to do great burst damage, 1.1k whites, 1.6k-1.7k BT's and 1.4k HS.
Oh well. Why on earth was DW moved? It makes more sense in Fury then Arms. So does Imp. Intersept. Guess it'll have to go Arms *sob*.

I have a PVE Fury build but added imp OP for the BG's. If I don't go against a premade I'm usually in the top 5 in WSG in HK's and DMG done. I never really go into a BG with a dedicated healer...so if one wants to follow me around...great..but I never ask. I have decent gear and I hit 1.5k white hits 2k on clothies every now and again. I've had 2.7k BT's on Resto druids and mages (probably no resil) and I've had some fairly decent 2k+ HS's.

I have like no resil but I don't care, PVE has better Burst DMG anyway, you're just not as survivable as others would be. It's ok though, if I go 1v1 against another s2 warrior (MS) I usually fair pretty good until they get back up.

I just love to wreak havoc. They have to be sh*tting themselves when a DW fury warrior hits them harder with a 1h than they hit me for with a 2h ROFL! ::invisions german kid smashing keyboard::
