Mage is immune to...Follow

I had a rather odd encounter with a mage in WSG that gave me the impression he had 5,000 resil. I was the only druid yet when I used cyclone on the mage I got immune message. Also immune to root and stun from feral forms.

AFAIK the only way to be immune to cyclone is to have pally bubble and mage didn't have bubble. There was no ally pally in that WSG, just a bunch of hunters and rogues with a mage and 2 locks.

Just in case, I put in a ticket to GM to check it out for possible exploit or something.

Any of you mage expert know how can a mage be immune to cyclone?

If it's not iceblock like darkmagepaul has suggested, had you cycloned him before? There's diminishing returns on it and after a couple you can't hit them again for a short period.

free action potion
Blessing of protection
recently blinded(I think that's the one with diminishing returns)
someone cycloned him/you cycloned him recently therefore diminishing returns

POTENTIALLY...Will of the forsaken? am I mistaken?

I was the only druid and he was immune to first cyclone so it wasn't from multiple cyclones, and he sure wasn't in iceblock. And as there was no pally in that WSG, no BoP either.

I can't tell if free action potion does prevent this as there's nothing in comment under free action potion on Allak, Wowhead, and Thotbot. I'll bug my guildies later when they're on.

Free Action does not grant immunity from Cyclone, but it would work for the rest of it.

There is no (known) hack to grant you immunity to CC and such, so I suspect that he just used an obscure item. He may have used the 10 sec bubble q reqrd or something else simmilar.

I would guess it was a consumable or trinket, though I don't know what. A hack to avoid CC would be pretty prevelant, and I would assume the offenders would be caught quickly.

How long is the timer on cyclone's immunity? if it's long (over 10 minutes) then maybe the mage was cycloned many times before entering the WSG. If it's short, then the mage is going to have a long chat with a GM.

It's technically possible he had been fighting a Rogue and had stun DR and Cyclone DR from getting blinded three times. Seems unlikely, but it is far more unlikely he has a hack program.

For the heck of it, I looked up Cyclone on WoWWiki. This is what it had to say:

Notes
Affected by diminishing returns, both in PvE and in PvP.

Very few mobs are immune to cyclone, very useful in instances to disable the mob that is going after your healer. Most groups will not like you doing this though. A good rule of thumb is this: if you can stun it, you can cyclone it.

If you cast Cyclone on A then immediately cast it on B before Cyclone effect fades from A, A will break free at once.

The target is completely locked down: paladins can't divine shield out of it, mages cannot iceblock out of it; however all PvP trinkets can negate the effect.

The effect is typeless, thus no one can dispel it.

Any aura or passive buff granted by the affected player or mob to other players or mobs will be temporarily negated until the effect ends. For instance if you cast Cyclone on a warlock's pet, Soul Link will be removed from warlock and his pet until Cyclone's effect ends. Paladin, Druid, and other auras are affected in the same way.

Additionally, DoT (and most likely HoT) effects are also negated for the duration

Bolded part, maybe?
