Hey guys.

This is more a curiosity question and to see what you guys can do. I'll give the story first. I was hanging around Netherstorm farming up some Ethereum prison keys so I could start that chain that takes 5 of the keys to start. Out of pure curiosity, I thought I'd head into The Botanica and muck arond with some trash. So I went on in and long story short trap resist + crystal spiking my pet/me for 2k = dead hunter. Seeing how I actually put a dent on those guys I wondered as to what kind of instances I could attempt to solo? Only one way to find out eh? I thought I'd start easy and head on over to Hellfire and check out ramps or Blood furnace. I decided on Blood Furnace and headed on in.

After some very easy trash killing and a wipe (***** you mana burning felhunters) I saw myself face to face with the 1st boss, The Maker. With health and mana topped up I dove right into it. He didn't hit my pet too hard so things were looking really good for me until... until he MCed me and I decemated my pet. With me by his side as a forced loyal pet, he reset and topped himself off before the MC broke and he layed into me. With a quick feign I set myself back up. I then tried something else, to se if MC would break on the PvP trinket. Only one way to find out. Same as last time, pet misdirect, Wrath it up and lay on in. MC gets placed back on me but ughh, trinket useless. Again the pet died, he reset, I feigned. Well, those MCs went off at different times so maybe if I get lucky and kill him fast enough he wont get a MC off? Only one way to find out.

After a boring wait for all the cooldowns to come back, this seemed my now-or-never-Braveheart time. Sent the pet in, Beastial Wrath, trinket, misdirects, Mend pet, rapid fire and any kind of buff I could find on my bars I whacked at. I soon find that the Maker is at 50% and going down fast. 40%... 30%...20%... looking good. Im praying to whatever gods name came into my mind that he wouldn't MC now, of all times. Buffs are all pretty much gone and hes coming down to 10%. This looks like its it! But oh no, my now small white kitty has died. Hes running at me now with a sliver of health and I'm hoping for something good. Hunter melee dont let me down! As I was smacked into the air I got a shot off at him and as I gracefully landed, before me lays the dead body of a demon. (Something I see many a time I assure you).

With a sigh of relief I relax and take in my accomplishment. With low experience with big bosses and only around a dozen heroics under my belt (but probably less) I'm not the greatest of hunters. With a lovely pair of Ironblade Gauntlets in my bag and a happy feeling I headed on out. I'm a reasonable man and I knew that I wouldn't have a lot of luck going much further and it was getting late where I live. Those gloves now sit in the first slot of my bank as my trophy.

With you hopefully enjoying my story, I now get to my question. What's the highest/hardest mob you have ever soloed? Whether it be soloing VC at 30 or taking out any outlands boss I'd love to hear your accomplishments. Im talking more toe-to-toe rather than the people who soloed those heroic bosses (But if you've been able to do that, your definatly better than me and I salute you).

I enjoyed your story. Unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question. The only contribution I can make is to say the I end up trying to solo instances too, d/t not having a group available when I actually have time to log on. Having reached only level 54, I obvioulsy haven't done any of the epic level stuff. Most recently I've been soloing through Scarlet Monestary, which is so far a breeze. I am worried about when I face the end boss in the cathedral, I understand he MCs or sleeps someone. Hearing your story, I am now more concerned whether I will be able to take him down...will have to let see i guess.

I can solo the first few mobs in Slabs and Shattered. Hmm... I've also practiced on the elite mobs outside of Gruul's Lair to get ready to take out Inner Demons from Leotheras in SSC.

I haven't tried it myself, but I hear about hunters having Scholomance, Stratholm live and Dire Maul East on farm.

cleared some of the 60 instances waiting for TBC(sholo,DM east/north)most of lbrs and some more.

After TBC durnholde first boss and slave pens forst boss.

yea decided to see if i could do what ive seen done by the guy in the hunter vr world videos so in no means have i come up with any of the tactics used myself

Highest solo kill as of no is Hydross i belive, altho that wasnt done by a hunter(warlock) and it has since been fixed, not sure if if the 2 hunter solos had been hotfixed either, but i can tell you that its not a viable way to farm badges.
Especialy not durnholde

I have successfully solo'd all instances sub-60. Other than that I have solo'd Scholomance more times than I can remember (I was a 70 who never got the beaststalker's helm) and recently I started soloing UD Stratholme. I really want the mount.

DM is a breeze, and I've done first bosses in a few outlands instances as well. It's a great feeling of accomplishment when normally a party is required to down them.

Keep working on your strategy, re-thinking everything, and keep it up!
