Stupid RNGFollow

After 4 months of running Kara, fully exalted full epic gear from kara/ssc/eye, I was still using that blue scryer healing staff, since I have yet to see a single healing weapon ever drop. I finally gave up and grinded out the S1 mace. I didn't put the 81 heals on it because I barely have enough gold to buy consumables since flasks are like 40-50g on my server.

Any way I did kara tonight and Prince finally drops the mace. I roll an 11 and lose. I feel like throwing my laptop out the window. I have the worst luck when it comes to getting drops and rolling, I did quests with a couple of friends and we greeded every green drop and I tallied up the wins. one friend got 16 greens the other got 7 and I got the 2 the let me have out of pity. I think at times that there is a GM following me around punishing me for some reason. Farming water elementals for 30 min and only getting 6 motes. I have a friend who has gotten 6 boe JC patterns and doesn't even have a JC, the only 60+ boe blue I have ever got was a ced's carver that dropped in SL, and the time a Kang dropped for me it got ninja'd by a guy that I was about to quest with who happened to be just close enough to roll on it.

This thread is for people to vent their hate for the RNG.

Maybe against Rng/Nins, they were always annoying in ballista

Well I intended it to be about the Random Number Generator of WoW, but hey whatever, I just wanted to *****. I don't care what you complain about, just do it here so I can read about it and use the sad stories of others to make me feel better. Yay!

Edit: Playing more than one MMO where a lot of abbreviations are formed specific to the game and what has been accepted in the game sure can make things confusing eh

Same here....and I never played FFXI. I have read too many posts about folks coming over from FFXI so terms like LinkShell, Rng/Nins, Drk/Nin etc... and others are familiar. I guess that's a little sad.

To OP:

Sounds like you have one of those "Bad luck characters". One of my alts has some seriously broken dice and never gets rare/epic drops. If I remember correctly there was a similar post a while back asking people if they had an unlucky toon....couldn't find it though. Anyone else remember that?

The best advice is suck it up and role with your sympathetic friends when you can.



I know I pass on anything my friends/guildies are gathering (but if you think I am passing on that epic that just dropped, you are in for a surprise).

Also I have seen RNG (Random Number Generator) used quite a few times, and I always figured it was one of those really obvious wow terms that had just gone over my head (like PST and MT /sigh), I guess it went over a lot of peoples heads :P
