Now I've read through the sticky, and it helped a lot but I still have a few questions.

Firstly I have leveled a hunter before, but it was only to level 40 and it took me AGES, which I know is not what hunters are known for. So my basic question is, for purely leveling would I spec 41/20/0. Starting with marksmen to get aimed shot, and then go into BM until 41. Or should I spec BM until 41, then go into Marksmen?

Focus on BM. Firstly, it tends to be the faster leveling spec - secondly, because Aimed Shot isn't really wonderful. It's not bad but it's not groundbreaking enough to spec MM first just to get that. Focus on helping yourself level up.

Pretty much what Smallsword said. Starting out with a beefed up pet will make levelling so much easier as it will hold aggro better. Aimed Shot isn't great and its best use is it's needed for Mortal shots which is a great talent. Spec into BM first so your pet will hold better then it would normally and then eventually branch out into MM.

Beastmaster is just about the easiest way to go , i tend not to try and level too darn fast anyway , that is if you call my 4 hunters and a priest up to between 21 and 26 in just a month all with above their level of trades , i found the fastest way and the most profitable way for me was to set pet on aggressive most of the time , and as i usually do low quests in a few starting areas that causes me no problem and the extra kills the pet decides to do while i am questing soon adds up.

By doing two zones the quests are far easier and a hell of a lot faster to finish , i think it is better to do two green quests rather than one yellow in the same amount of time , unless someone thinks different ? The big plus is you catch extra rep at times for your home base as many quest givers are from the different races.
