20 / 0 / 41 which weapon?Follow

#1 Mar 07 2008 at 1:07 PM Rating: Decent
I am deciding which weapons to use before i go combat maces (waitin on honor for the 2 maces)

Currently i have 2 71.7 dps daggers, and 2 71.7 dps Swords

On the 20/0/41 spec, what is your "Ability" rotation?

I.e

Starter->spam ability-> ender?

And which would be the wiser choice? 2 daggers, 2 swords, or a mix?

I run a similar spec with that using 2 swords.

I played around with an MH Sword / OH Fist and MH Sword / OH Dagger.

Finding with the two swords the damage is a bit steadier. Can chew through a mob a little quicker.

Why would you go combat maces?

It's 3rd best for both aspects of the game.

Well, let me maybe explain what i want to do.

I am planning on BG only for about a month, every time i am in BG i see a rogue with gladiator S1 gear and 2 glowing maces.. and he kills 2-3 people before anyone can kill him.. and thats universal of that rogue. "geared to the ear's" as you may say.

What spec are they? Thats what i would like to do. These Rogues with 2 shiny maces come and kill everyone. I figured they were combat spec'd.

I dont plan on any PvE or 5-man instances, just BG, so any opinions?

They're probably combat maces or subtlety.

What's the delay on your swords? Don't go daggers. :P 20/0/41 is fine, but use it with a big top-end mainhand (i.e. long delay, big individual hits)

That rogue is almost definitely 20/0/41.

You can do that build with either S1 swords or maces.

I actually prefer swords since you can respec to combat swords if you want to do some PVE and you don't have to change weapons.

Right now i have these weapons, and i can spec anyway i need to..

Lv60 high warlords sword (lol)
Latros shifting sword
Whispering blade of slaying (murmur dagger)
Hungering Spineripper

I am 20/0/41 as i said with shadowstep and improved ambush and stuff, if i decide to go swords i would spec hemo sub wouldnt i? I am more dagger sub atm with things like improved backstab etc.

S1 swords. I don't give a **** what anyone else has to say, if you get anything but swords since 2.3.2, you probably have downs.

As ShS Swords, what is your rotation like in PVP (BG's or Arena's)?
mine is:
premeditation, ShS, cheapshot, hemorage, SS, 5Pt Kidney shot

After that i kinda get lost. i try to Shiv and SnD when i can but I just respeced so any pointers would be helpful

don't use ShS for your openers, save ShS for mobility or finishers...

I recently re-spec'd to this..

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0xZ0xEzbVt0M0oZxMe0MhRo

With S1 Main hand and off hand Gladiator Maces, both with mongoose.

That spec is mainly for PvP, but has some versatility so i can farm/mine/5-man instance without having to worry about re-specing because i feel weak.

Let me know what you guys think and or would change.

I just couldnt do anything but pvp as 20/0/41 and i finally got my maces, so figured it was time to re-spec to a more well-rounded spec.

1) Don't use SS as 20/0/41

2) Using Premed when you're opening with CS is fairly redundant. Save it for vanish IMO (unless you want to ShS KS a mage who blinks CS).

Premed is perfect for openers. Most of the time in arena you're going to sacrifice Vanish to get out of snares, not to get another opener.

99% of your good opponents are going to stack dots on you; rogues will put up a 1pt rupture, locks--well, I don't really need to talk about locks--warriors with crits, etc. You'll have 3 secs to get another opener if you time it perfectly. That's why I prefer to use Vanish aggressively instead of defensively to give yourself your control back.

That said, you're not always going to be able to use premed in the middle of an arena match, but you're going to be Prepping anyway, might as well use it after Prep.

I use Premed on pretty much every time I use Garrote. Premed > Garrote > Shiv > Rupture > Vanish and they're walking around wondering what the **** just happened. You can also substitute a ShS Evis before you Vanish for squishy classes, but most will have a damage mitigation buff up.

That's how you run warriors dry. You'll have to hit Sprint somewhere in there to get out of range of their Piercing Howl/Demo Shout and then Vanish against good warriors, but it's still doable.

Even better if you can pull it off is a ghetto Premed Garrote Rupture Vanish start.

It doesn't matter whether you go swords or maces if you're strictly ShS does it? I'm only asking because I can't see the difference to be honest and I'm buying my weapons today. I don't wanna end up gimping myself.

Oh, and your avatar is full of win.

Being a human rogue I went mh S2 sword, OH S2 mace to take advantage of our sword/mace human racial.

And before any of you omg-you-can't-offer-advice-because-your-rating-sucks people out there armory me, my arean rating isn't all that great. I mainly 2v2 with my son who plays a hunter and we all know that is by far one of the worst combo's for arenas. But we do it for fun and to gradually gain arena points.

There is 0 difference for PVP assuming you stay shadowstep. I think he means if you plan on PVE, you might as well get the swords since they are better in PVE and the exact same in PVP.

If you never PVE, it makes 0 difference at all. That said I do PVE, and I got my maces just before the patch, not knowing how good shadowstep would become. Now I regret it of course, but once I gear up I should easily hit 1850 for my S3 swords.
