Well i am currently level 66. Mostly have soloed my way to here so far, but this character will be a raiding rogue. Mostly 5-mans and kara to begin with. No PVP unless there is a good epic i can pick up from honor.
I have been trying to read threw the sticky's and other topics.
I like daggers. I generally open with ambush, then Slice and Dice, then SS couple times and gouge.
But from what i gather swords are going to do more dps in the long run. If so what opening move do most use? Of course being stealthed first helps.
My build right now is so-so, not really looking for advice on that. I have a build in mind to start with, but that was for daggers, but will change to swords if that seems to be the better dps choice. Will respec once i hit 70.

I was once in the same boat as you were. I was a diehard dagger fan but i have since respecced combat swords. My dps has increased substantially.
The opening move you will use in solo will be for sure Cheap Shot. Gives you a few seconds to pound the mobs down without being hit and gives you two combo points to start off with. Sometimes more with a talent or two.
When playing with a group you do not want to cheap shot and your next best option then since you are not a dagger rogue and no longer have ambush is to use Garrote.
Also i have NO idea why you are using gouge.....unless your almost dying from mobs but then...idk
