Curse of Exhaustion? Worth It or Not?Follow

#1 Mar 06 2008 at 5:17 PM Rating: Decent
Hello fellow Warlocks,

i have a question for you Affliction based Lock's

Is Curse of Exhaustion really worth getting early on? IM lvl 33 now and i have one more point to spend before i start building my shadow mastery up to 5 for my increased dmg.

so, what im getting at - you can only have one curse up at a time. is this curse really worth the point (talent) ?

i can either max out Nightfall, max out Fel Concentration or choose the CoE before i move on to my much need dmg modifying talents.

Now i plan on maxing the other two eventually - but im not in a hurry. I rarely get interupted in my siphon life/soul enough to aggravate me and i dont spam sbolts near enough to need that extra 2% shadow trance chance. But i dont want to waste a point on a spell i never use - just to respec later. Ive already respeced once to get back on track to Affliction - so im not looking to do that again any time soon.

How often do you guys use this spell? Anything its particulay great for?

help me out fellow warlocks! ThX

It is an excellent kiting tool for fighting things higher level than you. Also gets some good use in PvP.

short answer yes
Long answer yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees

seriously though its a great tool for PVP and PVE, not so much pve but it has its uses.

sometimes jsut for the hell of it i run past a mob and dot it up then CoEx it and watch it try to chase me and die

also do max out nightfall, and fel concentration specially if you are gonna PVP

I've never found a use for it in strictly PvE play. I have better uses for talent points than something I never use.

Ok, so i get it - i need it , it helps a lot.

But, i may just wait until i max out my shadow.

Because my main dmg tool/spell is my CoA, and i wont be able to use it....

but i guess i do need to get it anyway for those times i have to flee (the tank dies, getaway).

make things a lot easier probably and the pvp thing is further up the road, but im doing okay in the bg's right now. ;]

Thanks guys!

Edit: Also, what is exactly meant when people say 'kiting', 'kighting' ?
does that mean to DoT them up and siphon life tank, or just run aound letting them chase you until they die off?

I'd go for it. It's always nice to be able to kite something to a town for a quest using it, it can be nice for keeping a Feared mob more controlled without CoR'ing it,

Nightfall is a 2/4% chance on a Drain Life or Corruption tick to get a cast-time free Shadow Bolt. I practically never Bolt while soloing except when it procs. It can save your life in a pinch or merely help you kill mobs =D
