resto - balance - feral -> arenaFollow

#1 Mar 06 2008 at 9:46 AM Rating: Decent
Hi there

I recently dinged 70 with my feral druid and started doing some arena
with my 70 warrior buddy. We are getting owned all the time but i'm guessing
it's because if the crappy gear we both have.
my question is this:
which talent spec is best suited for this druid-warr combo? Pros and cons?
I'm guessing resto would be the obvious choice but don't the other talent specs
have anything valuable to add to this combo?

thanks a lot in advance :)

You got it - resto druid is the name of the game. But else you could go with feral - I know Deep brougt that combo to 2k+ in s2 (but it takes INSANE skill)

I have a question about kinda the same thing but dont want to make a new thread so here it goes. Im lvl 52 and my main thing is pvp the guild i was in is a pvp guild. But when i hit 70 i plan on going back to that guild. At 70 I want to be a balance druid for pvp but dont know if i should go balance again and stick with it till 70, switch at 60 to balance, or i could just stay feral to 70 and pvp for the gear to go moonkin.

After reading the post above me i think i might go resto so yeah...so many things to do but so hard to get gear for all of the talent trees.

Thanks in advance

Bulana, I would recomend two things.

Firstly if you have not played Balence before I would continue leveling while gathering gear from AH, and instances until you have a full set. Now this is going to require running a few instances more then once to get the gear, but don't be afriad to talk to the party you are running with about rolling on gear for respecing. Then once you have the full set, respec equip your gear, and level your weapon skills since as feral you don't level them at all and learn to balence.

If you have played the balence spec before and are confortable with your skills in the spec then level to 70 as resto or feral(I find this a faster leveling spec), and if you run any instances look for good balence gear, but only roll on it if no one else needs it since it if for an off-spec. Then when 2.4 goes live get honored with all the factions with give you the blue pvp gear set and there is your balence gear. I do not have the link however, but you need to be honored with Lower City, the faction from Mech, Bot ext, CoT faction, and one or two others.

I hope this helps you Bulana.

Edit: Added info

Thanks Velkyri ive been all 3 specs for atleast a lvl or more...resto is so hard to solo with i gave it up. So are the factions u listed the ones I need to get honored with? and lastly the gear that i get is that pvp gear that i can buy? Will I need anything specific like certain marks or just gold?

Thanks again

Quite annoyied with myself for not saving the link. The set is like S1, S2, or S3 it doesn't provide cape, boots, wrists, or a belt but those are easily gotten from the AH. Its what 5 slots? so there are 5 factions. They all cost gold, but its pennies compared to farming instances/BGs for S1. The set gives something like 100res so its a quite nice set to start arena/pvp with. When I find that damn link again I'll pop it in here.

Finally found it again:

Feral Druid set : http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=742
Resto Druid set : http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=744
Boomkin Druid set: http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=743

Shoulders: Thrallmar/Honor Hold, 15G
Gloves: Lower City, 10G
Head: Sha'tar, 20G
Legs: Keepers of Time, 20G
Chest: Cenarion Expedition, 20G

All of the factions are the same, so you can in theory buy all three, pvp with all three, arean with all three. Basically they are making it much easier to enter arena/BGs w/o sucking. Now obiovusly there will be some items you will get from questing, instaces, ext. that will be better, but man I wish they had this when I started pvp....

Oh the factions are the same for every class as well, its basically D Set 2 recolored
