Hi
I have got to nice feral idols, that I would like to use everytime I either mangle or shred, to get the most use out of them, but I can't seem to get past the global cooldown. So far I have tried the following macros:

/equip Idol of the white stag
/cast Mangle(cat)()

/equip Everbloom idol
/cast Shred

and

/equip Idol of the white stag
/stopcasting
/cast Mangle(cat)()

/equip Everbloom idol
/stopcasting
/cast Shred

Does anyone have an idea how to make the idol equip and the ability use into one instant action? Would it work to put an ! in front of the ability use? Don't know exactly how the ! works in macros.

On another note: I tested the same macros with spells, and they work fine in that case. I can spam heal myself with rejuv and lifebloom with a new idol everytime and with no delay. Why the difference? Does beeing in or out of combat affect how it works?

Yes, being in combat matters.

There's no way to do this with instant attacks. The way you can do it with channeled spells is to do it like;

/cast Regrowth
/stopmacro [nochanneling]
/equip Idol of Regrowthyness

and then hit it twice, so it'll equip after the cast is already going.

Damn, hoped it could be solved somehow :(

In raids it's not such a big deal, since i can get a routine going, but i guess i have to go back to not using macro's in pvp, because that 1,5 sec wait before your ability lands is a killer in pvp.

I was under the impression that, since switching Idols also resets your swing timer, it's a net loss in DPS.

Edit: In PvE, anyway.

I wasn't aware of any reset in swing timer, but since my two idols give me 94 AP and 75 bonus damage to shred respectively and my swing timer is 1 sec, I guess the gain outweighs the loss

Elitistjerks has a thread on this.

Idol swapping resets swing timer, so just using everbloom idol for dps comes out on top.
