Cat (pet) abilities?Follow

Which 4 talents / abilities do you guys teach your cat for pvp at 70?

Mine right now has Claw / Dash / Growl / (cower?)

I do not know if Bite/Claw both on auto would be a good idea, does anyone know if they can go off at same time or if 1 dominates the other? if so i will replace the cower with bite. I only chose Cower because i thought it might be usefull incase i decided to run a 5-man instance.

Cower is a waste of skill slot. Bite and claw seem to fight over focus, one or the other works best for me. I chose Prowl, just nice to play with in BGs. So growl and dash are always on, bite or claw is on, and prowl is on in PvP

Why in the hell would you need growl in PvP?

I think they meant all the time during PvE, which is why they specified PvP use for prowl.

Either that or they have one more skill on in PvP than they need.

You wouldn't need it in PvP, but unless you are running out of focus it won't matter. growl=threat; threat<> PvP.

could we go back to the bite/claw in combo comment? I'm brand new to the hunter, so is it a waste to have both bite and claw? If so, do you just go for claw since it doesn't have a 10 second cooldown? Or do you go for bite because it has the cooldown thus letting you get another growl off?

With the Bestial Discipline talent in the BM tree, a pet should have enough focus to manage claw as well as growl. So, either choice is very workable.

For PvP, I have dash and claw active.

For PvE, I also have growl (soloing) and bite (extra DPS when solo or instancing).

With either BD or GftT you should have enough focus to manage both with ease.
So Bite + claw(or gore) ftw!

Thanks everyone for the replies :O if i could rate you up i would!
I think i will switch to claw/dash/growl/prowl... But i need to learn Prowl somehow, its not on my beast training list.

I started this Hunter at Lv68, my friend quit and gave me it, so i have been learing myself through boards/forums on how to play a hunter well :O.

The best post so far was about the BM bow 1:1 rotation steady shot / autoshot, that one helped me majorily. I was just spamming every ability i had before, and had to rest mana like every 2 fights, now i can farm for hours without resting with the mana regen aspect on :P.

To learn prowl you just need to go to Petopia to find a cat that comes with prowl when tamed. Play with it long enough to learn prowl yourself, then dump the new one and teach it to your "old" cat.

As far as cower in raid, not needed at all. You just need to put your cat on passive and it will stay by your side until you tell it to attack and will return to your side after the mob is dead.
