#1 Mar 05 2008 at 1:08 PM Rating: Decent
Anyways my warrior is only lvl 10 I dont plan to play him till i get my lock to lvl 70 (lvl 64 atm like 200k from 65). But i cant decide on professions which will best suit him. Money isent a problem because i'll be supporting him with my lvl 70. I was thinking jewel crafting and engineering or enchanting but i have no idea...

I have found on my warrior for Eng. to be very useful because of the tanking goggles that are very impressive. Also I was able to level to 350 very easily in a few days just watching auction house prices. I'm considering taking up JC but hate to give up a gathering profession. Hope that helps.

Mining and jewelcrafting will defo be good. The epic BoP gems you get are awesome.

For starters, your post would be 1000x easier to read if you would learn to use periods at the end of your sentences.

That being said, a warrior can use just about any profession with the exceptions of leatherworking (unless you really want to make armor kits) and tailoring (if you are in dire need of bags). What does your lock do? Does he have a gathering profession (such as mining or herbs) that your warrior can leverage? If so, pick something that complements that skill. If not, your options are wide open. Go alchemy for pots and elixirs, blacksmithing for weapons or armor, or jewelcrafting for rings and necklaces. Or grab two gathering professions, make mad cash, and pick something later.

Cheers,
Jorge

Enchanting is always an awesome profession. Since a warrior is very gear dependent, keeping yourself fully enchanted is a nice bonus. Plus, you can make tons of money as an added bonus.

For your other profession - pick something you'll enjoy. Engineering is just plain fun (IMHO). Explosive sheep, bombs, ray guns, jumper cables...you can't go wrong :) Plus, you get that nice BoP helm at lvl 70.

Since you have a miner already, I'd suggest jewelcrafting or engineering. Engineering lets you make some great stuff, but a lot of it is BoP - which will limit your ability to sell it later. Blacksmithing yields some good gear but not until a lot later; you're better off getting gear off the AH or from instance runs.

I agree with YJMark on enchanting. I'm always lamenting my inability to enchant my own BoP gear, and it would be great to have it as a skill. It also helps to generate cash as you sell off dusts you don't need as you advance higher up.

Cheers,
Jorge

I just told you there are BoP gems. Stat-wise it's not a big difference from them and the BoE ones (BoP Stam gem has +18 stam, Hyjal gems have +15), however, you can only have one BoP gem in any one item set, since they're unique-equipped.

Ritster,

With your 70 financially supporting your warrior toon you can avoid having to go with gathering professions and focus on toon improvement.

You have the right idea with YJMark's suggestion of enchanting, not only does it act as a psuedo gathering profession you will find it's utility to be solid.

A couple of people(uthelmar and furious) have mentioned enginnering, an interesting choice. It's a "fun" profession, it can offer significant utility however at a very real cost if you arent careful.

Blacksmithing is also a reasonable choice for a warrior as long as you have a good supply of ore(otherwise it can get murderously expensive).

In any case, have fun and enjoy the ability you have of feeding this toon gold. I recently made my first non-priest(a warrior) however I did it on a fresh server and thus had to take 2 gathering professions(mining and weedpulling).

Good luck....

EDIT....I would stay away from Jewelcrafting, in your situation IMHO it doesn't offer enough Value when compared to any of the 3 I mentioned. However, personal interest should always trump Min/Max'n so if you want to go with JC then have at it...in that case I might suggest going with mining to give yourself solid access to gem potential(through prospecting).

Again, good luck.
