Active Cat Skills QuestionFollow

#1 Mar 04 2008 at 2:15 PM Rating: Decent
My tiger currently has Bite, Claw, Dash, and Prowl as his active skills, but I wonder if I made some poor choices.

Do I really need Bite and Claw at the same time? Seems like maybe I should pick one or the other.

Prowl: the added damage is nice on the first hit, but for PVP use I find the slowness unbearable. Should I drop it in favor of something else, or am I just using it wrong?

I keep two pets, a Tiger and a Crab. The Tiger is mainly intended for PVP use, Crab for PVE. I only use the Tiger in PVE when I need to level him.

For PvP those abilities do seem like the right choice. I'd use Growl for PvE, but if you only use the cat for PvP I have a hard time imagining what that fourth skill would be...

Why the crab for PvE though?

Crabs have high armor, surpassed only by turtles. Their damage is a bit low though. Also, I just enjoy having a semi-rare pet. You don't see a lot of crabs skittering around and I like being a bit unique.

Aye I see. While the armour point is sort of... indifferent, I see why you might like the pet.

crabs still have growl and claw so they do decent enough as tanks.

I can understand how you feel about Prowl when i first got it i used it about 3 times then turned it off as it was like watching paint dry and probably even less fun .

with bite and claw it depends if your cat is running out of focus , if not the extra damage is well worth having in pvp i would think.

i can understand your like of different pets as well , as i am now trying to get 4 hunters levelled all with different pets , i prefer the pink tallstrider over a crab but i guess both do around the same damage but at least the tallstrider will get dash eventually and the crab will still be slow, for me any pet that has dash dive swoop charge or warp is always going to be my first choice..

Prowl is only really useful in Arena if you're a Nelf and your partner can stealth.
Or if you're a Nelf and guarding a flag/tower/whatever.
Besides that, i find it to be really useless :P
