Should I continue with my lock w/ 2.4 on the way?Follow

I have a L20 lock now. Already I LOVE playing the lock class, but this nerf to LifeTap is pretty immense. So I'm asking the senior locks out there: should I keep going with my current toon or roll something else and pick up a lock once Blizzard fixes LifeTap (they will eventually).

No one should quit a class they enjoy because of a nerf. Even with the life tap change warlocks aren't as bad off as some classes. Play what you enjoy. You won't even have to get a whole new set of gear for the change due to you not even being near 70. You can start getting your mage items early >:O!

Stick with your Lock!

Well, yeah, but something tells me that this thing is going to become a royal pain in the butt, especially when I start doing L40+ instances, and given the nature of the new LifeTap mechanics it'll only get worse as I rise in levels. And there are other classes/playstyles I'd like to try out (healing and tankadin, to name two).

Edit: And it's not like I can really "get mage gear" or stack INT, because ultimately I'll run into lock-only items, or items that are just plain meant for locks, and all of those items give way more STA than INT, which will only serve to make LifeTap even worse for me, unless Blizzard miraculously changes every lock item in the game in 2.4, which they won't.

You know what, I went on the ptr and played around with the new lifetap. As it sits now it's not that bad pve. As for pvp don't know couldn't get into any of the BG's and it was the PVE server so no real world pvp. *shrug* I'm gonna have to test that out on the other one I guess.

The life tap nerf isnt even that bad, if your seriously considering quitting your class because of it. Then play a shaman and see how bad they are nerfed. or go emo.

Well, not quitting, just placing on a short hiatus. >< But if you're saying it's not as bad as it seemed on paper...

I checked the warlock section and I couldn't find anything... all I found was this:

* Blood Pact now has a tooltip.
* Demonic Knowledge: This buff will no longer remain on enslaved demons when Enslave Demon is removed. It will now increase your spell damage by an amount equal to 4/8/12%, down from 5/10/15%.
* Demonic Sacrifice: Now works properly in sanctuary regions (such as Shattrath City and the Stair of Destiny).
* Emberstorm now also reduces the cast time of your incinerate spell by 2/4/6/8/10%.
* Felguard Cleave: This ability will no longer strike any secondary target which is under the effect of crowd-control spells that break on taking damage. ie. Polymorph, Sap, etc.
* Nether Protection: The buff from this talent will no longer interrupt capturing PvP flags and bases.
* Pyroclasm: This talent now works correctly again with Rain of Fire.
* Ritual of Summoning can be used to summon players into instances if they meet the instance requirements.
* Sense Demon now persists after death.
* Shadow Ward: Using low ranks of this spell will now be penalized the same way healing spells are penalized.

*throws a party*

Thanks to those who supported my lock during this time. ^_^ Look for Noiri if you're in Auchindoun! Warlocks rule!

(Perhaps a bit much for being happy about this. Well, apparently that nerf wouldn't have been that bad anyway, at least for PvE. Exaggeration for exaggeration. =P)
