The other night I was instancing w/ some friends in Heroic Arc, and our healer was having a hard time keeping me alive. During one stretch I was killed on 3 straight pulls. I was talking to the healer after, and they told me that I was getting killed to quickly. I was told that I was getting hit to hard and that it was difficult keeping me alive.

My question is, what is getting hit to hard? How much damage is average heroic damage? My armor is roughly 13k w/o Devotion Aura or buffs, and my HP is around 11k w/o buffs. With buffs my armor is around 14k and my hp is roughly 12k.

Edit: My defense is 502 and my avoidance is somewhere around 66.62% before HS + Libram of Repentance bonus.

If you have the neccessary stats (490 def rating and a reasonable amount of uncrushablity say 80-90%) that shouldnt be happenning. If you dont have the 490 def rating then it is possble the mob's crits are killing you. You need 490 defense rating to push crits off the table (same with avoidance and crushing blows in raids).

If this isnt the case then it was probabaly the healer. Either there gear or skill could be a problem. BTW what type of class was it? I know I have issues with druids healing me compared to Pallies and Priests, as there heals start off slowly.

Actually something I forgot to mention in my previous post was that we had two healers. A holy priest, and a resto druid. We've run this setup before and we've beaten SV, and Bot. However last night we attempted Arc, and I died many many times. That's when it was brought up that I was being killed to fast.

May I ask at what point you were being killed? I assume on trash mobs but at which point? Some mobs hit harder than others.

I was getting massacred by the first boss, that was the first time I was told I was taking to much damage. After that when we reached the room with all the voidwalkers I got killed there as well. After we got to the room with the demons with that demonic Aura I got killed by the two pulls we made and then I called it a night.

Yeah, make sure you either get priests shadow resistance buff or use shadow aura, and bless kings for the extra hp.

All the mobs eating you have been doing magic damage and on top of that Arc has some awesome mechanics behind the VWs and the Eredar. Those Void Walkers (some of them, at least) open a portal under them which gives them back HP and gives a stacking damage buff. The Eredar have a huge aura of shadow damage and if you're fighting in that room you're actually getting it overlapping onto you.

The first boss, much like the first one in MT, is just a pain in the ***.

You can start having a little side shadow resist set for those bosses. Since ALL of the damage you take is shadow, it doesn't hurt to boost your SR to 200 or higher after buffs, and you can keep a good amount of your stamina too, since most of the SR gear is just SR and Sta.
