A couple of questions for the expertsFollow

After a break I'm back into tanking again. Did my first kara run yesterday as the MT and we cleared the place except for Netherspite (shammy + priest: "There's no way we're gonna try that in a PUG. They would happily suicide to summon a mate when the rogue had to leave tho...) No deaths in the entire run :)

Well, I'm wondering about the expertise skill mainly. I bought the expertise-bracers from badges, and they're good. Are the bracers from attunemen any better though? Are they better for different kind of fights etc? I'm not sure if I'm gonna roll for them if they drop.

I'm also wondering which neckpiece to go for from badges (or if I should wait for the drop from Maiden?). I've noticed there are a lot of new badge expertise items coming in the next patch as well.

(my avoidance is kind of low-ish atm, and I also need to enchant some of my new gear. That will happen soon, so don't worry about that)

What is the expertise cap, and should reaching that be a priority, or should I stack hp/avoidance?

A level 73 boss has 365 defense, ie. 5.6% parry, dodge and miss chance. With 1 point of Expertise yielding -0.25% chance to these attributes, you need 23 Expertise points to reach the cap.

Also, 3.94 Expertise rating is 1 Expertise point, so you'll need 90 Expertise rating for you to be sure to reach the cap. 88 or 89 could be enough, but 90 is the number to go for after having rounded up (thus making sure it'll work).

Expertise is your single best TPS stat until it's capped. It's even better than Block Value. You should get your hands on it whenever you can, especially if you're having aggro issues (however, I gather than you don't...). You should also stack Stam of course, but capping Expertise is certainly a nice goal to have.

Boss parry chance is actually closer to 10-12% before Expertise. After 5.6% you softcap where it'd be only as good as +Hit in terms of threat generation as it's only removing Parries. Of course, it's still cutting incoming damage... so it's still amazing.

Incidentally, Block Value is actually not that superb of a TPS stat, although it's not awful. It does come extremely far behind Expertise, quite far behind Hit and a bit behind STR
