Why not include an ability where shamans can relocate their totems? And rather than just a random spawn around the shamans feet, why not have them choose the location of their totem?

A similar system to choosing where to AOE, drop a guardian in black morass or throw a distract?

Ofcourse one problem is that it might be inconvenient in terms of immediate emergency needs. Clicking a button and a totem instantly appearing is convenient in situations where you dont have time to click, move your curser across the gameworld and chose a location. or even doing that really hastily and quick isnt as convenient as just a click and leave the totem be.

I had come up with 2 solutions but realised i can merge the two basis for the ideas together instead.

Have an ability that acts as a switch between choosing spots and instant spawn totems. A stance switch so to speak. When preparing battle be one stance, then when your going into battle, switch to the other and charge.

Why not have an ability similar to Totemic Recall.

It costs 60% of the cast cost of all totems currently in effect for the shaman. It recasts all totems currently in effect for the shaman at his current location but does not refresh the duration on them.

Rather than have to deal with 4 GCDs to recast totems you only have to deal with 1, but you don't get the whole duration or get charged the whole mana cost.

I like the idea, but I can see some shaman dragging Earthbind totem with them everywhere as they run from mobs or pursuing rogues.

Give it a 10 second cooldown.

And for the CC issue. Not too long ago i passed along the idea of a totem that zaps the closest hostile into a frog/snake as a breakable CC effect.

This could work quite well if we bring our ideas together. That is have my stance system of shaman choice/foot spawn and your ability of shaman totem relocation.

I'd prefer a castable Hex spell rather than a hexing totem.

What I wouldn't mind is an earthgrab totem like so many mobs use.

Pulses every 5 seconds and wraps any enemy targets within 15 yards in roots for 2 seconds.

Totems don't need to move. They're freaking totems. Just take away their GCD. Keeps the mechanic completely intact and then makes it viable in every situation.

Completely agree, if the shaman MOBS can have earthgrab totems, why cant shaman PC's have them? its not like they are overpowered.

Also the hex ability, keep it short, 4-5 seconds, but ranged and fast, kind of like polymorph. Would fit extremely well with shaman lore, and most shaman heroes in WCIII had it.

If the druid mobs can use roots indoors, why can't druid players not? It's not like it would be overpowered.

Actually, yeah, that would be perfectly fine with me. Might make DPS Druids a little more viable and actually give people a reason to bring a crit chicken along.

The totemic recall to relocate totems has been suggested over and over on the o-boards. Blizzard continues to ignore what would be a sensible and fair idea for shaman class improvement.
