Falling far behind in raidsFollow

I've been raiding affliction for a few weeks and gotten plenty of advice (and listened to it) but my damage isnt really increasing. The past few raids a demo warlock had been coming with us and topping the raids dps, beating me by about 10-11% usually.

Ok, on to the good stuff. On trash I put up CoS use my trinket, UA and SB spam. Only more difficult mobs I'll put up Corr as well. I've considered putting CoD on mobs that are sheeped or off tank targets but they just die too fast. The demo warlock has his succubus out and SL up for the same effect as saccing her. He says he puts up Corr and CoD and then SB spams on trash and then does the same but includes Immo on bosses. On bosses, I put up all my dots and try to keep them all up.

Most of my other raid members dont out gear me, I think most of them are in S1 PVP gear. I would say they out gear me but that isnt an excuse for 10% behind. I have been using consumables but as far as I know so has everyone else.

So onto the questions. What am I doing wrong as affliction? I've heard that affliction warlocks are one of the best classes for early raiding. Is demo a good spec for PVE? If so what are the gear requirements and what tactics are used? For that matter what is the gear and tactics for destro?

This is the demo warlocks armory

My tactics on trash is to just cast Corruption, then start with the SB spam. During the first SB cast time I send in Succy. She helps increase damage with her lash of pain then her normal attacks. I also keep my trinkets going.

Is that for Demo or Affliction? I use an imp for Dark Pact.

I never use UA on trash.

Normal rotation on weak trash:

CoS/CoE > Corr > SB Spam

Tougher trash

CoS/CoE > Corr > Immo > SB Spam

Also, what damage meter are you using and does it allow you to check the last fight? As an Affliction warlock, you may notice you lag behind on trash, but either have you damage meter show you the last fight after a boss, or reset it right before the boss. That is where our DoTs really and mana efficiency really shine. Lagging a little on trash is ok, as long as you are up there for the bosses.

I use my succy on trash, then the imp on bosses I dont need fel hunter out (maiden)

Id have to look at the damage, but I think the Succy does more if you dont have Imp imp and imp fireball. At least in the short burst that trash usually takes cause of the lash of pain.

I wouldn't bother w/ cursing trash unless it's tongues. For CoS to be more useful than a shadow bolt you would need to cast 10 bolts. You're better off saving yourself the global and putting out another shadow bolt.

well first off hes pushing 1142 spell damage and your only 811.
he has slightly higher +hit then you do aswell.

might wanna invest in enchanting your gear and replacing those green gems.
get on an equal footing +hit and damage wise then see how ya do.

As for using CoS or not, I normally run with 2 (sometimes 3) other locks and at least a SPriest, so CoS is allways up, even on trash. So it depends on the raid makeup I guess.
