Ouch, Help Me With My Multiple MobsFollow

I do not have a 70 rogue. I was completely bored, so I decided to roll a rogue on a PvP server. It's a Human rogue, which is a complete change from the Horde. I'm loving the toon, but it seems like I have difficulty with 3 mobs, and Evasion gets popped. I survive, and then somehow if my next pull has 3 mobs I'm dead.

Here's my current strategy:

Sap (if possible) > Backstab (if possible) > If I can't Backstab I'll Gouge > Back Stab. > SS > (Another SS if needed) > Evirescate > Start on next mob.

I've heard lower levels are just harder for Rogues, but I have a feeling I'm just playing it wrong. So why am I not surviving on bigger pulls? Thanks for any answer :).

first, i have no idea what level you are.

second, you dont always have to get a stealth opener and you can pull with a ranged weapons to get better pulls.

Rogues are generally 1v1 fighters unless you want to blow your CDs all the time. Also, at that level non dagger SS spam is insanely strong so maybe think about picking up some swords or somethin and trying that out.

At level 30, spec into Blade Flurry. That will be the beginning of your killing 3 mobs with ease.

Once you hit 40, Adrenaline Rush + Blade Flurry + Slice and Dice = everything around you explodes.

edit: Nooblesticks quickstart guide is fantastic for helping you with this.

Don't forget evasion as well. That'll add to the awesomeness

Don't forget about blind, gouge. Those can stun a target for a bit while you deal with his buddies.

Blind really helps when kick is down and a caster is trying to pop off one of his spells.

I love rounding up 3 or 4 melee mobs on my rogue, popping BF/AR/Evasion and making "mob soup".

So nice to see huge yellow numbers flying around everywhere.

because you open with backstab, as opposed to ambush, i take it you are not yet 18(or is it 16?) so in that case, you probably shouldn't be taking on 3 mobs at a time.

Otherwise for me it's:
mob 1 sap
mob 2 backstab, SS, SS, gouge, evis, (ss if needed)
mob 3 repeat as for mob 1, but gouge, go behind target, Backstab, and follow as before

You're a rogue, why are you going for 3 mobs at a time? :P

Well, some people prefer the Jason Bourne kind of rogue over the ninja assassin rogue. Except there are no rolled-up magazines or pens available as weapons in the game. :D

I picked up Engineering and made bombs. Incredibly useful for a 3-man pull.

Thanks to everyone who has replied.

@ KTURNER I was really really tired when I posted, thusly, I was going to say level 14.

@ REST thanks for advice, I'll follow it. It's not like I try to pull 3 mobs, it's just occasionally it happens. I suppose I'll just run if I do, until I hit something like 20 or have a nice stack of pots in my bag :).

Evasion is why you survived the one pull and not the other. Really, like others said, until 30 you will struggle, even sometimes with two. Use your sap and other abilities to incapacitate and keep the fight on your level.

Many high dps toons dont really come into their own til 30 or more, like the mage. Some people get frustrated and stop playing that toon, not realizing what was right around the corner.

Be prpared to die alot, or run alot, sprint is great here ;) if you are combat swords, which you should be in my opinion leveling, some guides say to get some points in assassination as you go down the combat tree, I tried both and went with a straight combat down to 50 for suprise attacks. This way you get adrenaline rush, blade furry and SA early, or have some points in assassination and go down the COmbat tree then respec at 30 for blind furry. 28 you get cheap shot which will be your new opener, sequence goes stealth, cheap shot, slice n dice, sinister five times and eviscerate, or ss until almost dead finish with evis. youll really start rolling through the mobs then.

But multiple mobs are a bane to the rogue, and even other high end dpsers til 30 or so, some would say 40, but my rogues took off after BF, every two minutes its like a two fer fight, so I purposely took on two at that time.

Check out this guide which is really great even suggest where to put points as you level:

http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dt4f32p_4dcj7jt

Also check this out http://shadowpanther.net/leveling.htm for weapons as you level, I try to stay on top of weps at a minimum, remember slow MH and fast OH, no matter how tempting it might seem to put two blues on, resist the urge unless the OH is fast, like 1. something fast. THis will help you kill faster, thus help you with the multiple mobs.

DOnt go daggers, maces, swords, blah blah blah, just stick with swords all the way up, A dagger can be useful at your level, but once you get into sword spec or any weps spec then stick with that. You can always respec end game for whatever you want to do.

Again, early on, just be sneaky, if you can sap and pull another and get the other one, then you can go one on one, I also used my ranged wep to pull, remember you have gouge to help and sprint if in trouble. Just bear with it, cause I did and fell in love with the rogue. Damn thing levels quick too! Will be great for farming and making gold as you get higher too, in outlands, etc.

Once you get adrenaline rush, (wielding swords!) when all your cooldowns are up, you will pull 3-4 mobs on purpose. It's fun as hell.

Hell ya!

, especially when there are those kill 50000000000 quests that everyone is doing at the same time it seems....like to look at them and know they are wondering how the hell a rogue does that. he he

Remember, even Bourne had to sneak around to accomplish his goals sometimes, like getting them from behind ;)

as your level increases, and your dodge rating slowly goes up, youll be able to easily take 2-3 mobs at a time pretty consistently, and youll also have many abilities and ways to get out of combat if your multimob battle takes you where you dont want it to.

as a rogue with stealth you can pick and choose what to fight, how and where to fight it.

Use the paths to your advantage.
