Collecting enhc gear for respecFollow

So I have played elemental for nearly a year now. My shaman is geared to the teeth in epix for both pve & pvp gear.

I was so convinced that I would never respec back to enhc... when I specced elemental for the first time, that I sold all my enhc gear. Which also freed up space in my bank.

Now after so many months of being elemental, I seek a change. I dislike healing, tried it once. It was good, but the initial excitement lasted 2 weeks & I respecced back to good ol' elemental.

So I'm left with enhancement. With the recent changes to enhc, I figured it was worth a try. Also reading all the praises to the changes in this talent tree in this forum, added to my rationalizing that I should go enhc.

I managed to collect 3/5 of T4 enhc set and some other melee dps gear. But as most posters in this forum say, itemization for enhc shaman is teh suck. Other than the Tier sets, other mail gear lacks Str.

So I am considering getting leather gear with str. I got this idea from another enhc shaman. I am going to raid only after I respec to enhc, so why not? I'm going to be 1 shotted anyway if I pull aggro even if I am to wear full mail gear.

So, what will you guys do?

Insist on full mail gear or wear leather pieces to fill in the gaps for Str stat?

We regularly let enhancement shamans roll on leather; there really is very little else for them aside from tier sets and hunter loot. However, the most important pieces you need to worry about as enh are the weapons.

I would grind BGs for the S1 enhance gear. Enhance shaman is one of the few specs that does just fine PVE in full PVP gear.

The PVP gear has lots of str and crit, which are the 2 stats you should be looking for.

With 3 pieces of T4 enhance you'll be even better.

I know grinding BGs can be tedious, but the gear is so much better than the dungeon blues or even Kara epics for enhance spec that it's well worth it.

Where and when has anyone on this board praised any recent changes?

The upcoming changes to enhance spec really are nice.

Undispellable Shamanistic Focus, Sham Focus returns the same amount of mana in half the time (this will be a bit of a PVP nerf though because you will only be taking the 30% less damage for half the time), and instant cast Ghost Wolf are all decent buffs to the enhancement tree.

They won't make enhance shamans a force to be reckoned with in Arena, but they will certainly help.

It's not really going to have any kind of effect on PVE, though.
