As far as i could see in the patch notes, the drinking change seemed to only affect arenas. Can anyone confirm?

from what I have read, they localized the drinking nerf to only arenas.

As a relatively novice fire-specced mage. Most of this stuff looks decent enough to me.

One question I do have after reading these posts...

What is Spellsteal? Is it a trinket or talent or spell?

I search both talents and spells and didn't see it listed in any of the trees. Granted a lot of that stuff ran together so I may have very well missed it.

But it sounds like a nice little toy to have.

Spellsteal is a spell you get at lvl 70 that steals a magic buff from your target.

Curse was offline yesterday, so we did Gruul without omen, surprisingly, it was our best run yet (3 deaths total on bosses).

The gold and badge drops from 25 man bosses are pretty nice. We got 20g and 5 badges each for clearing Gruul.

I do feel they're making things too easy with all the new do-nothing dailies, and the free honor. But I suppose it'll help my guild gear up quicker. I still think it's a shame they took the attunements off of MH and BT though.

Does any server have the badge vendor guy yet? Last time I checked we were at 25%.

I'll start off. Blink is 470 mana for me, Spellsteal is 448. In my talent window, it says Slow would be 448 for me.

Bah, are you serious? Spellsteal needs to be about half that again to make it an offensive factor in Arena. Mages aren't much more than utility at this point anyway (c/s, cc, snares, bit of KB burst)--would be nice to add a little spammable Spellsteal to this.

For those of you waiting for curse to come up.... if you use things like omen, you can get them at wowace.com. Omen has been updated for 2.4 and I love the new omen. It gives you even more options for displaying only the info you care about.

to reinforce what kt said, don't get your wowace mods from Curse, they are outdated very quickly. Use the program wowaceupdater and get your updates through there.

I am liking the icy veins change! It makes fighting Hunters (and other pet classes/Rogues) far easier every 3 minutes, and BGs seem ot be made of em.

And less mana per Blink is always good. I have a habit of using it whenever it is up, and if I am fighting that means I go OOM much faster.

I am happy that Water change is only for Arenas. I wasn't a happy Mage when I heard about it, because it is pretty common for me to only drink a partial amount. (I don't mind conjuring a ton of stuff before a session, so I don't care about being wasteful. It doesn't cost anything, afterall.)

And any increased bonus from spirit is nice. Will I try to incorporate it into my gear more? No, but I like having that extra bit.

Overall, I am actually very happy with the changes.
