From 2.4 patch notes:
Quote:
Diminishing returns on honor for kills is being eliminated.

Quote:
If a player dies 50 times or more in a battleground, they will no longer be worth honor for the remainder of that battle.

So, as it is now, you have people yelling that winning in BG is more important than HKs because of diminishing returns. Actually, the only reason many players defend or use any kind of strategy at all seems to be this lone reason: Winning is more important than HKs for honor. Taking the towers, defending the nodes, etc all result in more net honor than just going out and killing constantly.

Also: Don't know about you, but I don't generally die 50 times in the BGs. Which makes that part inconsequential. It would be far easier to find some newb and keep on killing them 49 times than defend the Blacksmith/IBGY etc.

So won't these changes make the BGs an HK free-for-all? Will there be any incentive for players to continue defending a position when plentiful killing will garner more honor (even if that gain isn't real and only perceived)?

And won't this make new players avoid the BGs because they're constantly getting PWND?

Or maybe I'm missing something? I'm not that smart.

WSG has always been my favorite.

The fact I can do nothing but kill in this bg and gain massive honor, I will never play another BG again.

Im hoping AV becomes a field of strife fragfest that ends with reinforcemnts with bonuses for the towers that go untouched. It would be fun, and it would be great honor, but it may only be a dream.

WSG is going to become the never-ending BG.

Grab the other team's flag then just sit in the middle and kill each other until you've died 50 times.

When you've died 50 times, AFK out. You still get the honor for the HKs you made while in the BG and it allows the next person in queue to come in and get killed 50 times for honor.

I could see WSG that literally run for hours on end as long as there are people in queue.

Only problem with that is they are also adding a DR on flags in WSG, if both flags are held flag carriers recieve 50% more damage, and after they have both been held for 10 minutes its 100% increased damage done to them. Sorry to burst your bubble. :(

Against a premade, that's not that big a deal.

They should make the flag frikkin EXPLODE and return to base if its held on to for too long.

If both are gone, have both reset after a while if no one manages to kill a flag carrier with the 100% damage taken.

Both explode ofcourse.

Ofcourse one could argue that the other team sucks if they cant take their flag back after so long. Though in a case where both teams are doing great defence and no real offence...mother of god its too common these days.

Was in a WSG once when all 10 hordies stood by their GY dancing during a standoff. Whilst I agree with you that it takes a certain amount of suckyness to not be able to get the flag back, trying to get the Alliance to listen on my BG group is like talking to a brick wall.

Which I suppose is indicative of the fact that most Alliance players seem to be retarded...

Actually that is unfair on retards.
