Or... maybe you could start by posting what the exact "wording" of the macro is up here and we could see if there are any flaws with how you wrote it up.

The macro looks fine, maybe you have no ammo? or your weapon is broken?

#showtooltip Steady Shot
/castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/castsequence reset=2/target !Auto Shot, Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear();

First off the reset=2/target is what might be messing it up
Second, didn't they get rid of the ! function since some hunters were cheating and double aimed shotting?
Third, you probably want your reset to be 3 seconds, not 2.

This is what mine looks like:

#showtooltip Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/castsequence reset=3 Steady Shot, Auto Shot
/cast [exists,target=pettarget] Kill Command
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear(); UIErrorsFrame:Show()

Nope and Nope. The reset=2/target will work fine. Also the ! should still be used, they just added the autoshot cast time back in. I think it reduces server response time if you have the ! and so lag is better. Also you don't need the :hide() and :show() commands. :clear() is enough. Not that it will make a difference.

edit: Actually that gave me an idea. Take the :clear() command out of your macro and the error might let you know what's wrong.

This is what I use and it works fine.

#steady shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/castsequence reset=3 steady shot, !auto shot
/castrandom [exists, target=pettarget] kill command, bladefist's breadth
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear(); UIErrorsFrame:Show

You can change the bladefist's breadth to whatever you have or remove it.

What level are you? Do you have Kill Command? If the macro is seeing a spell you don't actually have, I could see it becoming inactive.

Quote:
#showtooltip Steady Shot /castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command /castsequence reset=2/target !Auto Shot, Steady Shot /script UIErrorsFrame:Clear();

Is that the actual macro as you typed it into the macro box, with no new lines between the "/" commands? It should look like this (which is mine, btw):
Quote:
#showtooltip Steady Shot
/castrandom [target=pettarget, exists] Kill Command
/castsequence reset=target/combat/3 Steady Shot, !Auto Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

As I'm comparing your macro to mine, I see an extraneous semi-colon at the end of your /script line. Could that be the problem?
