I'm a combat sword rogue. If I re-spec my talents to have Dagger Specialization instead of Sword Specialization, do I have to have a dagger in the main-hand in order to get the +5% crit chance improvment?....or...do I have to have a dagger at all?...or...can I just have a dagger in the off-hand?

The increased crit chance applies to any daggers, but will not apply to swords, fists, or maces.

This is actually a fairly viable setup with fist MH, sword OH (and fist spec instead of dagger spec, of course). It breaks down with daggers because your CP generation is too low to maintain decent cycles, and the procs from sword spec will be fairly low in damage since daggers are much faster than other weapons.

1. Hmmm...so I may just go with my epic sword in MH and a dagger in the OH and re-spec with dagger specialization. I'm assuming this would still give me +5% crit since you said I will get the +5% crit with any dagger, whether it is in the MH or OH. Correct?

2. But this leads me to another question....If I re-spec with 10 talent points in both dagger specialization and fist specialization and use a dagger and fist weapon, will I get a +10% crit?

No. You get 5% with your dagger, and 5% with your fist.

Wrong. The two effects are mutually exclusive to the weapon type specified in the specialization. If you equip both a dagger and a fist, then spec 5/5 into each weapon spec, the end result is just a 5% crit increase on both weapons.

Thank you for your input! This helps out tremendously! Now I can save a lot of gold from doing my own trial and error re-spec's!
