I recently picked up PvP'ing (Battlegrounds) and one thing I cannot stand is being feared :(

Is there something you can do against it? Or you just keep running around like an idiot until it runs off?

Ahhh good ole Fear. As a Hunter, I believe you only have two outs. If BM, you can pop BW and it will make you immune to fear. The other option is to use the PvP trinket. That will instantly remove fear and allow you to control your character again. If both are on cooldown then you just have to let it run its course.

Running around like an idiot is option number one. Number two is that if you are BM then you can activate your red kitty power and it will break the fear. Number three is there is a trinket you can get from PvP that when used breaks all movement imparing effects.

I thought they made it so you can't use BW while being feared?

They did that in some patch and I ended up switching to MM due to the fact I couldn't use BW to break fear.

I'm pretty sure that if you pop BW while your pet is feared (and you arent) then it will remove the effect from the pet. Not sure if you can use it if the hunter himself is feared but I don't believe you can. Haven't pvp'd enough to try it yet.

Insignia of the "Insert faction here", or the necklace with the same effect and some added stats.

I do know Bestial Wrath will break Fear from your pet if you aren't feared yourself. I can't recall if I've ever tried breaking fear with TBW, when I'm feared myself. It just hasn't ever happened to me. Either I burn down the Warlocks too fast / Stay out of the Priest range / kite the Warrior, or all of the above just haven't thought of using Fear.

What I do know, is that TBW does not in any shape way or form break Terror. (Deathcoil).

Edit:
TBW is also a great deterrent. Compared to things like Trinket, WotF and so on, TBW actually gives you immunity from things like Fear. I don't bother waiting until the Warlock/Priest decides to Fear me. I pop TBW, Trinket and so on, and start doing damage. By the time TBW is over with, I've either killed the clothie, or been killed by him and his fifteen Hordie friends.

There are two trinkets. First one is:

The 2nd on is:

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=28237

I highly suggest getting the 2nd trinket asap if you are starting pvp. The cooldown on the second trinket is 2 minutes as opposed to 5 minutes on the first one. You also get the extra resilience. This trinket will save you so many times and you will wander how you ever pvp'd without it. Enjoy!

I'll second what north said. Usually use TBW right away.

For mages you want to be a bit more careful as they can IB through it. I try to trick mages into IB with my trinket, which turns me big and red.

Bestial Wrath does not work for you if you are feared however it does work for your pet should it be the one feared... if you come 1 v 1 a clothie that can fear pop BW and hope to nuke him before his 5 horde (or alliance) friends appear to stuff you up.

Yes, get the 2 min cool down insignia trinket right off the bat. You will not regret it. I wouldn't even bother with the 5 min one... Just deal with it 'til you get the better one.

What necklace is that?

Options when you are feared:
***** and moan
Trinket
***** and moan while hoping a dot or some other dmg breaks the fear
Take over caster's char and make them chain fear you till diminishing returns makes you immune... then wait another 15 seconds till you get to be feared again

Options when you are going to be feared:
Run away from the priest/warrior fear bomber
TBW
Stun with an imp concussive shot
Interrupt with a Scatter Shot
Interrupt with a Silencing Shot
Interrupt with an Intimidation
Stun with Wyvern Sting
LoS (doesnt usually work, but it can. Being behind the caster will never work for fear)
Feign Death to break target (during the casting time)

The last option is my favorite.

Did i miss anything?

Edit: Yes, Duky. You did miss something: Sting and lay a trap before you get feared. It might help a little :D

The ap trinket Uniting Charm from a Nagrand quest turns you red. Don't remember getting bigger, so maybe that's not the one in question.
