58 and up, elemental or enhance?Follow

#1 Feb 27 2008 at 6:33 PM Rating: Good
Alright, I have a level 58 enhancement shaman, and I have no clue as to what I should go in respect to talent builds. So far I have found a good number of posts saying enhancement and a good number saying elemental, so if it wouldnt be too much trouble to help me out, I'd like some build suggestions, and comments on gear selection, preferably both for faster leveling, my character is poonisher, a 58 draenei shaman, easy to find on the armory, I would link the URL but technical difficulties prevent me, sorry for the inconvinience. Thanks for the help regardless!

If you are enjoying enhancement then stick with it. I'm lvl 61 now and been enhancement all the way.
You will find that at your level you will find a stack of cheap green items (from Outlands) in the AH that benefit us enh. Shamans.
Look for suffixes like 'of the Bandit, Soldier & Beast'
My Melee power has just kept on increasing and the bonus spell damage through mental quickness is really noticeable.
I am enjoying it more now than ever, and have no intention of ever going Elemental or Resto.
But if you want to cast more spells, change to elemental, it is your gameplay and your £9 a month.
Good Luck.

Well I made a shaman because I wanted to slap monsters with a mace, and I do enjoy it, however my buddy who plays a paladin keeps beating me, I figure my gears weak, or i must be doing something wrong, I also went leveling with a elemental shaman who's the same level, he was killing way faster then me so I knew something was wrong, or maybe its just me. Anyways thanks for your contribution, but I still am looking for an answer to which levels me faster in outlands, elemental or enhancement, and I need help with a build, I have 3 talent points, and not a single clue as to where to put them.

I have to say, I've been Enhancement for a while and it's extremely fun to play in Outland; however, I have played Elemental and am currently leveling a second Shaman just to be Elemental. If you do want to switch to Elemental, Outland is a great time. It introduces a lot of caster mail very early in the questing string (on my Enh shammy I had a full off-spec set, just in case, by the time I hit 61). Truthfully, and I haven't yet leveled FULLY through Outland, I really think that each spec will be as quick as you want it to be as long as you enjoy the style of play.

Also, as to your spec, you MAY want to go 44 in Enh to get what you have now AND Mental Quickness. Furthermore, I would suggest the traditional style of Enh/Resto for leveling...less expensive healing spells and totems are always a plus.

BTW, Might I ask what your usual combat routine is?

Edit: Sorry, more specific, put the three unknown points in Mental Quickness.

I love enhancement, and as of now im getting that it doesn't matter, elemental or ehancement, they're
basically the same, my style of fighting has been the one that saves me the most mana. Charge in, drop a mana spring totem, storm strike, wait for focused, then do
a shock ability, usually earth or frost, finish off mob, lesser heal, and repeat. Sometimes I mess up with waiting for shock and lose too much mana so if I'm around 70%mana, I'll use shamanistic rage, that thing keeps
me with
much less downtime

Might I suggest also dropping Strength of the Earth. Also, I tend to use Flame Shock as the opening shock. It helps when duel wielding at that level with the unpredictability of hitting, since it has a tick to it. Other than that, I really think the best thing to do is stick with what you like. The more fun the spec is to you, the faster it will be.

I see what your saying, and ill try out theflame shock idea, but the earth totem might be too much, since my whole method of fighting is about using the least amount of mana each battle, its funny I went through all the 40s and most of the 50s with no water, thats how fun that was, the earth totem is wasted mana but suggestion to your enhancement shaman, instead of earth totem, drop down a grace of air totem, since we need agil more then strength.
